"Are you coming to the party?"
"Please come!"
"We can't wait to see you~"
Over forty different students had asked the trio if they were going to the party that the Gazelle leader was hosting. Students who otherwise did not have the courage to casually talk with them, were now using the excuse of the party, and looked forward to seeing them.
Aurelius was attractive and fit, while Mo was a mixture of funny and handsome. More often than not, when these two walked through the school halls, many girls would be found giggling at their presence. The fact that Mo was a shameless flirt didn't help matters.
While everyone believed Pro was too haughty to attend parties (though she was just extremely shy) students admired her as if she was a role model and leader. With having yet to turn a person away when they asked her for help, and always offering up as much time as needed until they are satisfied, she never asked for anything in return.
So these three became highly prized within the school, regardless of their chosen gang, or therelackof.
Seeing as so many people obviously wanted the trio to attend, they had no choice but to go. It's not like it was going to kill them. Besides, parties were a way to have fun and interact with other students without teachers there to hamper the process of mingling.
And so, that morning in History, the three agreed to go out to their first high school party.
Well... it was apparently Aurelius and Pro's first, Mo on the other hand had already been to a number of them...
"Today, I have one task for you." Mr Quon was saying. "I want you to write me an essay on: What is a hero?"
There was a chorus of groans, all giving voice to the injustice at doing child's work. After all this time of studying analytical essays and difficult thesis, this was....
Beyond disappointing.
They were all about to be adults, yet this new teacher was making them do something as stupid as this?
He smiled at their exclamations of outright refusal. "I want your voice on what is a hero, whether that be someone who saves a life, someone who looks out for others, or just someone who is there for another. After all those short novella extracts we've been digesting, this should be easy for you to do. Eight hundred word essay, emailed to me by tonight."
With the final tone of his voice, the bell went, and the students moaned.

Zyair entered his sister's home and set a clean container on the countertop. "Jin, I came to return your–"
He sensed a shift of movement from behind and whirled around.
Prothanius Ardalis Rays strode through the front door after him. How hadn't he sensed her sooner? How was she so quiet?!
She stared at him silently, as if she was a ghoul returned from the dead to haunt him, daring him to apologise.
For one blood curdling second, he wondered if she'd regained her memories. What was the protocol for such an anomaly? What could he do if she decided to inform the entire world about monster hunters and the supernatural? Mass panic would erupt across the globe–
"Zyair, what are you doing in the doorway?" A sharp feminine voice snapped. His mother. Armani Yu.
Pro stepped around him to dip her head in respect to the elder.
Armani raised her hand, eyes widening with passion, appearing as if she was about to slap the girl–
Only to snatch Pro in for a bear hug instead. "Ahh, my favourite grandchild~ It's been too long."
