Firstly, I didn't think Alpha Teigen would easily agree to me moving out of the pack house. But then I had to use the situation to my advantage. The house was ready two days after I made the request and I was already moving in. Viviana and a few guards were helping me.

They were constantly communicating with the alpha but he didn't show himself which was perfect.

The last of the things were set up and I thanked them for their effort.

"I'll go and get some groceries to make some food. Will you be okay by yourself?"

I nodded. She was constantly worrying about me. That was why I didn't want to tell her anything about my suspicions. The constant vomiting, nausea, and the rest were symptoms of something I didn't want to believe was true. Not at this time. It would only make things more messy.

I took a shower and changed into lighter clothes. The house was wonderful, well-furnished, and somewhat similar to my old apartment.

Since I was staying here permanently, I needed to find a job. It would be good for me to earn my own income so I'm not dependent on anybody for my needs.

I'll ask Viviana about the available jobs that I could apply for. I was considering teaching but I'll have to speak to her first before making any decisions.

I heard a knock on the door.

"Viviana?" I called out. Did she forget something? I hurried to the door and pulled it open.

I was surprised to see Miyanda standing outside my home. I tried to close the door but she blocked it. She was stronger than she looked so I wasn't even a match.

"Why are you here?" I've not seen her since her big revelations and I liked it that way.

"We need to talk"

"We don't need to. Please leave my home" The last time I spoke to her, I ended up paying dearly for it for months.

"I know you're upset..."

"Upset?"

"Furious and mad and you hate me but I really need to talk to you. To apologize please"

I stepped away from the door. She could be just like her brother. Persistent when they wanted something.

She entered inside and I walked to one of the chairs. She sat opposite me and looked around, studying the house.

"It's beautiful"

"Please say what you need to"

"I'm sorry Arcelia. Like I said before, I was driven by bitterness. You didn't know he was married and I should have solely focused on him but above all, I should never have done what I did knowing how my brother could be sometimes"

"But you did. Do you know what I went through here? The mental torture? Can you even imagine half of what I went through?" She hung her head.

"Nothing I say will make it right or heal those wounds. I feel disgusted myself. And I take full responsibility for everything that happened"

"So why did you come back? He wasn't done punishing me yet. If you had stayed away longer, maybe he would have killed me. Wouldn't that have made you happier?"

"No. Not at all. Nobody's death makes me happy. I just... when I found out that you were mates and he was doing that to you because of me, I knew that I had to return. Mates are very important to us. He would never get another and I couldn't sit back knowing he was jeopardizing his chance with you"

It was all for her brother. She didn't care that I was suffering.

"And also... what you are passing through was unfair. I returned to make things right... to salvage the situation. I just didn't know that it was very bad. My brother cares for you. He wants to make things right. I'm apologizing for myself and for him because I'm at fault"

"When I apologized to you about Blaed's infidelity with me, did it take away some of the bitterness?"

"No"

"Exactly Miyanda. Your apologies can't do anything. You tried to do the right thing three months too late. I cannot forgive what has been done to me. And even when my heart eventually let's go and I don't feel so much hate for you and him, I can never forget what I went through"

"I understand," she said in a low voice and stood up.

"I hope one day, you'll be able to" She walked away from the house and I scoffed. With her gone, I decided to see Alfio.

It was easy to find the infirmary from my new home. Alfio was behind his desk when I arrived.

"Arcelia? I didn't expect to see you here. Are you okay?"

"I guess. I've been feeling off for some time now"

I told him the symptoms I've been having and told him my suspicion.

"Lay on the bed and I'll check you" I did as he said and he checked around my abdomen.

He didn't have the types of equipment that we have back in the human town. He must have read my mind because he gave me a reply.

"We have sharp hearing. I can tell just by pressing my ear against your stomach"

He did just that and he looked at me with a bright smile.

"You're right. You are pregnant" I chewed on my bottom lips anxiously. This changes a lot of things for us.

I wanted to be far away from him. As far away as possible. But that couldn't happen when I was carrying his child.

"What do you plan to do?" Alfio asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"You have to tell him," he said simply and I nodded.

I couldn't possibly hide the child from him. He would find out one way or another.

"But don't say a word to him. I'll tell him myself"

"Okay," I thanked Alfio and returned to my house.

Viviana was waiting in the house when I arrived.

"Where did you go? I've been searching everywhere for you"

"I had to see Alfio"

"Why? Is something wrong? Are you okay?" She pressed her palm against my forehead.

"I'm pregnant"

Her eyes bulged. "What? Pregnant?"

I nodded. "W-What... What do you plan to do now"

"Please inform the alpha that I'll like to speak with him"
