Ivan's POV
It's the day of the welcoming ceremony and preperation for the event is in full swing. Nathan and Jason gave me the task of keeping Noah away from the pack house while everyone gets things settled and ready. Not that I mind. Every time we spend time together, my feelings for him deepen considerably. The way his blonde hair blows in the wind, the way his eye sparkle with interest when he learns something new. How his cheeks turn a soft pink when I catch his eye. The way he smiles sheepishly when embarrassed. Everything about him is perfect. Shaking my head, I clear the thoughts of the person that's steadily stealing my heart without even knowing it; I take the picnic basket I had prepared the night before and make my way towards the Omega quarters where I know Noah will be.
It's still early morning, the sun barely peaking up above the tree line, I wanted to get an early start, knowing that the sunrise from the pool of water I've mentioned before had the best view.
Reaching the Omega quarters, I knock gently on the door, a few minutes pass before the door cracks opened and a sleepy Noah is starring up at me, his hair slightly tousled. Biting my lip I try to not chuckle at the confused look on his face. The others left him to sleep in, it's common for the one being welcomed into the pack to not participate in the setting up of the ceremony.
"Good morning Beta Ivan." He says his voice soft and gentle; eyes brightening slightly as his wakes up more.
"Good morning, Noah." I say unable to stop the smile forming my face, "I thought we could go for a walk, I have a surprise for you."
His curiosity piqued, he nods eagerly, "Let me get dressed." He says hurring back into the room.
Soon, we're walking through the forest following the familiar path to the clearing we both adore, the early morning air is crisp and refreshing. The silence between us is comfortable, punctuated only by the rustling of leaves and the occasional bird call. I lead us past the clearing and up a winding path, watching his eyes wonder around the unfamiliar surroundings.
Arriving at the pool, I set the picnic basket down before going in and grabbing a blanket I made sure to pack so we can sit on the ground without getting dirty. The view from the pool was breath taking, it's surrounded by rock on either side but has an open that overlooks the clearing and pack house down below.
"This is incredible," he murmurs taking in the view.
"I thought you'd like it," I say, going to stand beside him, "I wanted to share this with you before the big day."
As we settle down by the pool of water, I can't help but steal glances at Noah. He's seated on a flat rock, his legs tucked underneath him, and he's staring out at the horizan where the first rays of sunlight are just starting to spill over the treetops. The soft light catches in his blonde hair, turning it into a golden halo. I watch as he closes his eyes, taking a deep breath of the cool morning air.
"This is beautiful," Noah says softly, his voice barely above a whisper, "I've never imagined a place like this existed."
"I'm glad you like it," I reply, trying to keep my voice steady. "This is one of my favorite spots. It's peaceful out here. Gives you time to think."
Noah nods, still gazing out at the sunrise. "I've been thinking a lot since I came here," he admits. "About everything that's happened... and what's to come."
I wait for him to continue, sensing that he has more to say.
"It's been overwhelming," he says after a moment. "But also... in a strange way, it feels like I'm where I'm supposed to be. Like I finally have a chance to be part of something."
