"wherever you go, just always remember that you got a home for now and forever"
─── ⋆⋅☼⋅⋆ ───
The fresh summer breeze flows into the Daily Dose cafe as a young couple walk hand in hand through the door, the bells attached to it jingling a little tune. It was a warm, beautiful sunny day in the middle of June but to be quite honest, I was still feeling the spring rain that my home of Washington State was infamous for having.
My small hands wrap along the sides of the ugly green mug that was once full of the cafe's finest brewed Colombian ground coffee. I lifted the mug up to my lips, my focused eyes never leaving the storytelling words in the book that I had open in front of me. The story was finally reaching its climax and getting interesting, I was getting that unwillingness to put the book down or close it.
Daily Dose was filled with the same heartfelt and warmth that I've always admired since I first stepped into this place during my freshman year of high school. The smell of fresh coffee - the best in town, might I add - maple syrup, cinnamon and bacon. For the past four years, you would be able to find me here enjoying a cup of coffee and stuffing my nose in a current read.
This café was a Maple Valley favorite and I was going to miss coming here almost every single day of the week to do the exact same thing I was doing right now. But after the weekend is over, I should be all moved into my new apartment. Technically, our apartment - my and Emily's.
The complex was located in the heart of University District, nestled in between strips of trendy boutiques, boba shops and restaurants. Most importantly, it was a short commute from the campus of the University of Washington, the absolute college of my dreams and quite luckily, the place where all my studies are going to be taking place for the next four years of my life.
It still racked my brain how I managed to get into a prestigious college like UW, stuff like that only happened in the daydreams that wallow in my head. But here I was, anyways, sitting in a cafe that was beloved by locals of my hometown, as a high school graduate in the middle of summer who will be a UW freshman by the fall.
On the other side of the country, there was my other half. He led an absolutely completely different life than mine. While my life was full of books, school assignments and trying to get those good grades.. Harry ran on a clock of constant traveling, studio sessions, high profiled events and as of currently, his first world tour as a solo artist.
I've been with Harry since, well, forever - and never have I ever seen his itinerary be as chaotic and booked up when he was in One Direction compared to him being on his own. Right now, he was probably strolling around the bustling streets of Chicago and searching for the best deep dish pizza in town to enjoy before he had to make his way to the United Center arena for tonight's show.
At least that's what he told me earlier today when we were on the phone.
Our entire relationship had been built on endless text messages and never ending hours on the phone as we talked about everything and nothing much. And sometimes, if I'm really lucky, I'd get the chance to see him for a weekend or during major holidays when he'd fly into Seattle.
