Midoriya woke with a start, muscles clenching up as he braced himself for a fight that he wasn't in. He sat up, eyes immediately going to check on his Mates. Bakugou was sound asleep, face pressed into his pillow and legs tangled in the sheets. The spot between them was empty. Todoroki wasn't there. Panic welled up in Midoriya's chest as he tried to extricate himself from the bedding. Where was he? Where was his Mate? He needed to find him, needed to protect him. It wasn't safe.

"Deku?" Bakugou groaned sleepily, rolling over. "What are you doing?"

"Not safe." Midoriya growled, his eyes darting around the room quickly, still looking for a head of white and red. "Not safe."

"Hey." Bakugou tried to soothe, worry tinging his voice as he sat up. "It's okay, we're safe here."

"No! Not safe!" Midoriya hissed. "Where's Beta? Where is he?"

"It's okay, Alpha, everything's okay." Bakugou murmured, a comforting purr starting up in his throat. "We're safe here because this is our home." Bakugou turned his head slightly, calling out towards the door to their bedroom. "Shouto, Shouto get in here!" The Beta appeared not long after, rushing through the door quickly.

"What is it? What happened?" He asked hurriedly. His eyes scanned over the Omega, as if he was looking for any signs of pain or distress. When he found none he turned to the Alpha, taking in the way the green haired man watched him with panic in his eyes. "Oh Alpha... it's okay, I'm okay." He said softly as he came closer.

"You were gone." The Alpha whined. "You weren't in the nest."

"I was just doing the laundry, Alpha." Todoroki replied, letting Midoriya rest his face against his chest. "No one will hurt us here, you know that."

"I know." Midoriya sighed heavily. "I just- I'm sorry, I'll do better."

"No Izuku." Bakugou protested. "Don't do that, don't shut us out. Talk to us."

"Let us in, let us help, please." Todoroki begged. "We're supposed to be able to talk to and rely on each other. Let us in."

"When... when either of you are out of my sight, I get so worried and I can't think straight. If something were to happen to either of you... God, I don't know what I'd do or how I'd even be able to forgive myself." Midoriya started. "I don't regret what I did that day, I would do it again if I had to, as many times as I'd have to. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe but I- sometimes I still feel it. The weight of his body, the way it slowly went limp in my arms. The fact that a part of me, the Alpha in me, felt good about inflicting pain on him. I don't think I should feel bad for taking his life, but I also don't think I should find joy in it either."

"It's okay." Bakugou soothed, coming up behind the older man and wrapping his arms around broad shoulders. "It's just still so fresh, that fear you felt that day but it'll go away. Just takes a little bit of time."

"What happened that day is none of our faults, we wouldn't have been able to change the outcome." Todoroki muttered. His hands reached up, cupping the Alpha's face and angling it up so that they locked eyes. "You're a good man Izuku, a good Alpha. You did what you had to do to protect your Mates. We don't know the weight you feel from having to do it. We hate that it hurts you, that he brought you to this point."

"Maybe to others who don't know, who have never been in that situation, it seems wrong." Bakugou continued. "But I'm glad. I'm glad he's gone. He was going to kill me, he was going to take Shouto and Natsuo away, he was going to kill you. He talked about doing despicable things to us because he found our pain and fear entertaining. He's hurt so many others and ruined so many lives. I'm glad he's gone and I hope he rots."
