I successfully avoided Leo for the following weeks after the talk in Seth's room with Adrian. There was no way on earth i was going to be vulnerable enough for him to trick me again.
Sighing loudly I made my way to my bed where mountains of clothes were strewn across the floor, a shiny red suitcase lay open across the sky blue silk sheets of the four poster bed. Today evening we were all going for a 'night' trip to the luscious hills and valleys that lay across from the castle.
Adrian explained we all needed some relaxation time in the lush forests that covered the mountain side.
I threw random clothes into the red suitcase and rushed out the door, the guys were honing impatiently for us girls who took too long.
Outside stood two dark ivory Toyota Prado's as six of us and our luggage and the camping equipment could not possibly fit into one. We split into two groups, I went with Seth and Sophia.I jumped into the back seat leaving the two lovebirds in the front.
Rolling down my window and plugging in my earphones a gave a relaxed sigh finally no more worrying but i was so wrong.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I felt chilly air on my face trailing down my collarbone, slowly opening my eyes i was greeted by the site of the luscious mountainside , the sky was preparing to go to bed with array of purples oranges and pinks.
It was getting chilly so closed my window, "Are we there yet, How Long?'' I asked Seth. "Just a few more hours" ugh that was too long. To entertain myself I started out the window, the mountainside was nearly dark giving away a mysterious aura. I wondered what secrets lurked in the dense forests shadowing either side of the road.
Leaning my head against the window i half consciously watched the scenery for a couple of hours.I was starting to feel drowsy when suddenly a dark figure with red streaked hair appeared into the canopy of the trees. What! No it was just my imagination I told myself, after that I kept seeing him in the trees, my heart was pounding out of my chest, but I wouldn't let him scare me I had the others with me now.
We arrived at the campsite shortly after, revealed I hoped out of the car , helping set up the tents and unpacking was exhausting. "Hey is there a stream or river somewhere", I asked Aidan who stood clueless over a bunch of sticks which i was guessing was supposed to be a bonfire. " Yeah, there's a lake its parallel to our camp its just a bit of a walk", he replied.
Not wanting to take anyone I made my way to the lake Aidan directed too, I came across a breathtaking lake reflecting the light of the full moon tonight, over it was a delicate wooden bridge.I dipped my legs into the icy lake, the movement sent shivers up my legs, slowly leaning down i splashed water onto my face feeling the refreshing ice cold water work its magic on my warm red face.
Deciding to linger longer in the magnificent lake I made my way over to the wooden bridge, It looked like something out of a fairy-tale. The bridge was sturdier than i Imagined and could easily carry 6 adults.
I propped my elbows onto the ledge and rested my face in my hands admiring the view before me. The cool mountainside breeze blew against my face and body sending shivers up my spine. Suddenly something felt off about the breeze as if it was the effect of someone running past. I felt a presence beside me.
"Is it not stunning in the moonlight" whispered Adrian beside me. I silently gave a nod, Adrian's presence was fairly comforting. We both stood there peacefully in silence, out of the corner of my eye I could see him smiling. I looked at him closely for the very first time since we had gotten here. With his burgundy hair and dark grey eyes he was unbelievably handsome.
All of a sudden we were surprised by a sudden flare in the sky coming rite from about where our campsite was. " Damn, I should have done the bonfire myself, We'll be lucky if Aidan doesn't manage to lite our camp on fire". I chuckled remembering how clueless he looked before.
"Do you wanna head back with me" asked Adrian his mysterious eyes shining in the moonlight. "Sure" I said as we started heading back to the camp i thought I saw a pair of red eyes watching us in the trees. I dismissed it as my imagination and followed Adrian silently.
As the days passed I grew closer to Adrian, whenever we had to pair up we would go together as the others were already paired mates. He was so much different than I imagined, He was handsome but also had a wicked sense off humor and made me laugh all the time.
I didn't notice but I had grown a strong liking towards him. We had just finished our canoeing race and won of course when It started to pour out of the blue. I took Adrian's waiting hand and followed him back. I was tightly pressed against his toned chest as he sheltered me from the fierce rain. Finally deciding my pace was too slow for us too reach camp by today, he swepped me up and his strong lean arms, up in bridal style, blushing I wrapped my hands around his neck.
We reached camp in no time with his vampire speed and all. Suspiciously no on had arrived yet, Adrian was guessing the took shelter somewhere else. "oh look ur soaking, you should dry up" said Adrian apologetically. Gently placing me in his tent he sprinted to mine and grabbed my towel, handing it to me quickly. I wrapped my towel around my shoulders and looked down embarrassed, Adrian was observing me very closely."Ur kinda creeping me out, I'm not that fascinating" I said blushing. "Your such a beauty" he whispered slowly leaning forward. I lent forward without realization hes eyes too mesmerizing. Our lips were seconds from connecting when I was jolted back by a sudden bang. Adrian and I scurried out of the tent, there looking like he had just fallen from heaven, I mean hell stood a very furious Leo.
