CHAPTER 5

-A week later-

One week later and you were now fully integrated into your job at the hospital. You were walking through the halls doing your rounds when you were called to a patients room with Dr. Torres. When you entered, there was Arizona just beside the bed helping the nurses prepare the patient for surgery.

"Dr. Torres, are you ready for the clinical trial, Hunt approved and now he is talking to the board." I smiled at her

Dr. Torres looked over at you, "We're all set, just a few more steps and we'll get it rolling. Why don't you come in a little closer so I can show you a new procedure I'm using to improve the quality of care we can provide." She walked over to you and placed her hand on your chest, her touch was gentle but very noticeable.

Arizona looked over and she was very jealous, "Dr. Torres, let's keep our personal lives separate from our work lives."

Dr Torres' face turned a bright red so much so she took her hand off of you and took a deep breath, "You know what, you're right. This was a very unprofessional of me, I truly am sorry." She turns her face away from you to not show you her blush.

I walked to the attendings lounge.

As you were making your way to the attending lounge, Dr. torres ran over to you and grabbed your arm. "Hey, just hold on a sec. Could I get a moment of your time?"

"Depends." I shrugged my shoulders still walking

"Just hear me out first," Dr. Torres spoke in a pleading tone, "I understand we shouldn't be mixing our personal life with our professional life but please just listen."

I stopped

"Thank you for holding on. Dr. I have a feeling I want to get off my chest but first could I just ask one thing?"

"Go on." I turned around

"First, you don't have a girlfriend do you?" She looked around to make sure nobody was nearby.

"No." I turned my head

She smiled, "Okay good." She took a deep breath in and exhaled, "This is going to sound foolish, but I've been getting this feeling when I'm around you. The feeling is different, something that I don't think I've felt for a long time." She paused for a moment, "Do you know what I mean?"

Arizona came walking over, "Callie kiss me." I whispered. She responded,"Pardon?" I repeated, "Kiss me."

Callie kissed you, Arizona came walking over and looked at us.

Arizona stood there jealous while looking at us, she coughed to get out attention. Mine and Callie's lips separated.

Arizona looked away embarrassed, but as her eyes looked up you could still see her cheeks were flushed and her eyes were wide with jealousy and surprise at what you just did.

"Did you need us?" I asked

Arizona was still too flabbergasted to speak. She took a deep breath but her eyes were still locked onto yours. "Uhhh, no not even a little bit." She quickly turned around and ran out of the room.

"Wait there Callie." I ran off to see Arizona

When you ran out of the room you saw Arizona running down the hallway back to where your office was. She was running like her life depended on it and did not look back once.

I finally caught up to her

She was panting like she just ran 10 miles. Her head was down trying to catch her breath. She was sweating profusely and was clearly embarrassed by what just transpired.
