Hissing sound of spraying bottle grabbed my attention from looking outside the window, my green-eyes landing on repellent in Franklin's hand. He sprayed it all over his arms that isn't covered by clothes and smudged it over his skin. I cringed from amusement when he offered his repellent to men sitting next to him.
"Need some bug spray? Bug spray?" The men politely declined, settling to ignore the paranoid guy. Poor Franklin. Who agreed to drag him on island full of free-walking dinosaurs? He's gonna lose his mind if he sees one too close, in worse situation a carnivore.
"The t-rex would be dead by now, right?" My amused smile faded into deep glare, sending daggers Franklin's way. Rexy isn't dead. I know she isn't.
"No. It's impossible to know the max lifespan of a clone in a completely different enviroment. Take a caveman that would have lived 20 years, feed him prime meals, give him health care, he's gonna live five times as long." Even though I'm thankful for Zia's intelligence, I didn't stop glaring at Franklin.
"So she'd be dead by now. Right?" He smiled a stupid grin I would most likely punch from his face if I didn't have Owen and Claire sitting next to me. And this is too small space and bad place to cause scene.
"Rexy isn't dead, deepshit. If she'd be dead, I would be too." I spat, startling Franklin. A rough hand landed on my thigh, rubbing it in comforting way.
"Jay, calm down. There's no reason to talk like that to newcomers." Owen scolded with his eyes narrowed at me, yet his voice held stern softness. The only I can force myself to do is look out the window again and ignore Franklin's wish.
After what felt like forever we appeared in main park, where everything ended almost four years ago. This is the place where Owen's raptors and my Rexy fought together against my Inza, the hybrid I couldn't save. Memories flashed before my eyes, making slight scowl take upon my face.
"Bad memories?" Weathley asked suddenly, noticing mines, Owen's and Claire's expression at the outside of the truck.
"Some were good." Owen replied, resting his head back after he shared a knowing look with me and Claire. Yeah, there are some good memories, ones I look back at mostly and try avoid the bad ones, however it's hard when you have the thing or surroundings right before your eyes.
Suddenly the truck stopped moving when we heard a familiar sound.
"What was that? Is it the t-rex?" Franklin's scared face looked at us. Though there's nothing to be scared of, because I know exactly to which kind this sound belong.
"No. This is not Rexy." I shook my head with invisible smile, all of us looking out the window in attempt to see the animal close by.
"I have to see this." Out of nowhere Zia bolted from the truck.
"Hey, Miss. Miss! This area's not secured." Weathley called, following after Zia with us others hot on their tail. I smiled brightly when I recognized the brachiosaurus I named Anne years back. Everyone stood in one spot, watching the brachiosaurus passing by in slow tempo.
"Look at that. Never thought I'd see one in real life. She's beautiful." An idea popped in my head when Zia told this to Claire, who approached her and placed hand on her shoulder. Smirk spread over my face and I walked past everyone towards Anne.
With my hands around my mouth I made loud, dull sound. Anne, upon hearing the call I used for calling herbivores when I went to check on them, looked down and lowered her head down towards me. She's letting me pet her, which means she recognized me from years back and also lifted my mood up. Any kind of dinosaur never disappointed in lifting my day. I looked over at Zia.
