As quiet as he can, Owen opened the door to main hall with dinosaur bones displayed everywhere. Now calmed down enough to not go mental, Jane followed close behind with Maisie and Claire behind. What made them stop in their tracks was a body of one of the bodyguards, laying on the ground, unmoving, with the gun for Indoraptor beside him.
The body got pulled back, startling the group and they quickly hid behind a wall, only hearing squealch and teeth clasping together, which tells them the Indoraptor is right behind the statue they're hiding behind.
They moved along the wall as he began sniffing the ground. Owen attempted to reach for the gun close to them but Claire yanked him back and pointed above them, indicating she hears something. The Indoraptor appeared above them and they froze, praying he doesn't notice them nor sniff them out and leave. Unfortuntely, luck wasn't on their side as a female voice spoke from where the camera is, and the hybrid looked down, roaring.
"Run!" Shooting onto their feet faster than ever before, the group ran up the stairs with the Indoraptor following clumsily. He jumped onto the spinning stairs and tried to bite Claire through the bars separating them. Using her boot, Jane kicked him in the snout, which caused him to let go of off the railing and give them enough time to get to the top and hide.
Jane rolled her pained shoulders and scratched the side of her neck, waiting for her best friend to climb down and join them. Once he reached them and took a quick look at Jane, his eyebrows furrowed more in worry.
"How you feeling?" For Claire and Maisie his voice is unhearable, but Jane heard him unusually clearly.
"Wierd?" It was quick and quiet, matching his hushed voice. The hybrid growling and snapping his jaw from somewhere above brought them back to reality and Jane tiredly rubbed her sweating forehead. Her eyes landed on box with electrical wiring and gestured for Owen to do something with it.
He nodded and soon the whole building lost its light, drowning in darkness. Only lights from outside shining into the hall gave them enough light to know where they are and where are they going.
Owen made sure the Indoraptor is nowhere to be seen before jogging with quiet footsteps across the exhibition they are in. The others followed, safely thankfully but there's more to go through. Once again Owen went first, but the door leading to next section stopped him from going any further so Jane went to help him.
All of sudden lights began to turn back on, and soon enough the section they're in lit up as well. The hair on Jane's neck stood up with the feeling of danger creeping on them.
Maisie screamed and the hybrid broke through the glass, jumping at them. Trunks that fell in front of Claire and Maisie blocked Indoraptor's way to them and Claire hurriedly helped Maisie up and away. More logs fell on them, one hitting Jane straight on her already hurting head.
Claire's scream of pain rang in her ears like she had big church bell right above her head. When Maisie screamed, frightened, the Indoraptor pulled from going after the three and chased after her.
The two best friends managed it without serious injuries, except for Claire, who got her thigh ripped open by the hybrid's claw. Owen and Jane worked together to roll away the big trunk that laid on Claire and they rushed to the red-head's side.
"Hey. Here. You're okay." Owen breathed a shaky breath, pressing a cloth on Claire's wound to stop it from bleeding. "Put pressure on it. Don't look at it. Look at me."
"You have to go find her." Claire looked at both Owen and Jane, remembering there's a scared child in the building running away from the hybrid.
"I can't leave you here." Jane rose onto her feet, her chest rising up and down way slower than Claire's. An idea that popped in her head before returned, and she nodded her head.
