Trivia

1. My dad refused to finish the movie unless we put an applause track in Brer Fox's first shot, so that's why it's there.

2. Patty Duke actually does have a brother named Raymond.

3. Gordon's mutant name, Waller the Worst, is a reference to a monster Brer Rabbit pretends to be in an Uncle Remus story that's not in Song of the South. Brer Rabbit soaks himself with honey and gets covered in leaves (by accident) and scares animals away calling himself the Wuller the Wurst.

4. Burt saying Hal the dog once opened the door for Patty is a reference to Hal the autopilot opening the spaceship door in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

5. The dog Jeremy gives Patty as a present is his own. The dog's name is Foxy and he's seen in a fair few of Jeremy's Facebook posts.

6. The story of Burt first meeting Hal implies that Patty used to visit him on the set of Batman, which actually never happened.

7. The name the guys give Patty's goodbye party, "Patty Party-Pants", came from a time when my mom went on a European cruise with my Grandma Joyce. Every time they went on an excursion, this woman in the bus with them kept having to go to the bathroom and holding up the bus. It went on so much, Grandma called the lady "Patty Potty-Pants". That's where "Patty Party-Pants" came from.

8. The theme song for this movie is Who Let the Dogs Out by Baha Men.

9. Gordon references the series title when he says "you made this villain jellyfish side up!"

10. In the unaired pilot episode of The Patty Duke Show and the theme song scenes in season 1, you do see a dog in Patty's house. So it's arguable that Hal was the dog we speak of.

11. When Patty's looking at a picture of Hal, she's really looking at a picture of Pongo from One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

12. Most of Burt's holies in this were acronyms.

13. Paul O'Keeffe plays Ross Lane in The Patty Duke Show and does wear round glasses.

14. Jeremy giving Patty a puppy in a hatbox references both the opening in Lady and the Tramp and Walt Disney giving his wife a puppy in a hatbox for Christmas.

15. This movie was released on the day Chad & Jeremy's Patty Duke Show episode first aired.

16. At first, Brer Rabbit was gonna say Chad was the only one who can rock round glasses, but my dad changed it to John Lennon, saying "No one says Chad rocks round glasses when you've seen John Lennon in them!"

17. Brer Fox and Brer Bear dressing as their favorite things pays homage to Ravi and Tiffany dressing as their favorite things for the game in the original Bunk'd episode. Ravi was a lizard and Tiffany was a violin.

18. Originally, I wanted the theme song to be Dog Days are Over by Florence and the Machine. But after I heard it, I thought the lyrics were a little too mean for such a sympathetic story.

19. Anyone who's read my story Twist and Wiggle, or watched my movie adaptation of it, may recognize the dialogue where they talk about having porcupine instead of pork.

20. In the moment, where Patty blows her nose on Jeremy's shirt, I blew my own nose to get the sound right.

21. This is the first time we see Peter & Gordon in any of my movies.

22. This movie was released just a day after James Baskett's birthday.

23. The moment where Brer Rabbit says Jeremy ate a rat and Jeremy claims he can still feel it is a reference to the installment before the last, Toxic Taste

24. Not long after we finished filming, my dad hilariously declared that he hated Brer Rabbit's line, "There's a seventy-five percent chance I iced the cake with sunscreen." We were watching JESSIE and there came a point where Bertram said there was a chance he iced a cake with lard. My dad said "We recycled the joke?". I said "yeah" and Dad said, "It's a shitty joke!" with a big laugh.
