I stared in the mirror and got a flash back from last night.
'What are you crying about?' Father asked rhetorically when I walked through the front door. 'Your life isn't hard. So why don't you stop crying before I give you something to cry about.'
I tried to stop the tears from falling but I couldn't.
'Go ahead.' I said to him exhausted. 'Hit me, beat me up. Go for it.'
I felt father shove me in the wall. He grabbed a vase and slammed it on my back.
'If you join that karate tournament, you're gonna get worse.'
Father went upstairs and I rushed out of the house. I saw a familiar building coming in my view. I knocked on the door and it was opened.
'I need you help, I didn't know where else to go.' I said weakly to sensei while holding myself up with the wall.
I saw Miguel getting out of sensei his house, his eyes widened when he saw me.
'Let's get you inside.' Sensei said as he and Miguel helped me in.
I walked in the living room and sat at the table.
'So are you gonna tell me how you got the injury?' Johnny asked.
'I already told you, I got mugged.' I said to him. 'I don't think I can join the tournament today.'
'You had shards in your back, did you think I was gonna let you join the tournament?' Johnny asked me in disbelief.
Me and Sensei arrived and saw all of the Cobra Kai's standing there looking worried.
'We're gonna have to do it without him.' We heard Hawk say.
'Do what without me?' Sensei asked.
'We didn't think you were gonna show up.' Hawk said.
'I may not always win, but I never back out of a fight.' Sensei said motivational.
'All right, let's sign up.' Miguel said.
'Not yet.' Sensei said stopping Miguel. 'There is one more lesson I have to teach you. You all learned to strike first, to be aggressive. Not be losers. I taught you to strike hard, put every ounce of your power behind everything you do. But I haven't taught you the third rule of Cobra Kai. "No mercy". The older you get, the more you're gonna learn that life isn't fair. You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls. Take a big steaming shit in your mouth.
'You get an "F" on a test or get suspended. You fall in love with a girl, and some other dude comes and steals her away. Car gets set on fire. You get mugged. Just when you think things are going good, everything falls apart. That's how it goes. Life shows no mercy, so neither do we.
We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above water. We do whatever it takes to keep moving forward. We do whatever it takes to win! Remember who you are. You're badass. You don't give a shit. You kick ass. You're Cobra Kai!''Yeah!' Everyone shouted.
'All right, guys. Let's get down there and kick the shit out of everybody.' Sensei said.
'Yeah!' Everyone said while Miguel pulled out his Gi.
'No, you're not wearing those.' Sensei said.
I was walking towards the stands.
'Emilia.' Sensei said while walking towards me. 'You don't need to be on the stands, there needs to be more than one motivational speaker.'
'Thank god.' I said to him. 'That is much better than sitting in the stands. At least I will be doing something that helps the dojo.'
After every dojo was introduced the fighting began.
