I was heading to sensei his office.

'We accept boys and girls.' I heard sensei say. 'Gender what? Is this a prank call?'

I snickered a little when I heard that. Sensei hung up the phone and walked over to his bag and gave me a granola bar.

'Did he say gender neutral?' I asked sensei and taking a bite out of the granola bar.

'Yes how did you know?' Sensei asked confused.

'It's a new term. It's where a person doesn't identify themselves as male or female.' I explained. 'That has a term. Gender neutral.'

'That is so confusing. Back in my day we didn't have terms like that.' Sensei said.

'Well times change.' I simply said.

Me and sensei walked out of the office and I saw an old man standing in the dojo.

'Class we have a visitor.' Sensei said. 'This is Mr. Kreese. He is just an observer. Pretend like he is not even here. Mr. Diaz, warm them up.'

'Fighting positions!' Miguel shouted. 'Front kick. Yuh! Forward strike. Yuh! Side jab. Yuh!'

I decided not to join in on the last one. Sensei Lawrence seems pretty tense with Kreese here.

'What the hell was that?' Sensei asked angry.

'We were just messing around.' Miguel said. 'We have eleven and a half months until the next All Valley.'

'Yeah besides, we already know how to kick ass.' Hawk added.

'Oh yeah, so you know everything?' Sensei asked. 'There is nothing left to learn?

'What is so funny Ms. Robinson?' Sensei asked when she laughed.

'I'm sorry sensei. You just wouldn't understand.' Aisha said.

'Try me.' Sensei said.

'It's a snake-do.' Aisha said and I saw other students grinning.

'What's a snake-do?' Sensei asked confused.

'Ssss.' Everyone except me imitated a snake.

'Quiet.' Sensei shouted. 'Five a.m, tomorrow morning. Corner of Fulton and Raymer. You don't show, and you're off the team. Class dismissed.'

'Great job, guys.' I said pissed off we needed to be there five a.m.

We were making cement at the place were we needed to be at five a.m. I hate this.

'Delgado, come here.' Sensei shouted.

He gave me a granola bar and Kreese looked confused.

'Can I tell him.' Sensei asked me.

'Sure.' I said to him.

'Emilia has a few eating problems, so I make sure she eats before training.' Sensei explained.

'That makes sense, I was confused for a second when you handed her the granola bar.' Kreese said.

After I finished the food, I helped further with the cement making.

A truck honked and we saw a cement truck arrive.

'You think winning the All Valley gives you the right to goof off?' Sensei asked us. 'Well I got news for you. Winning one championship don't mean squat. A true champion never stops training. Like miss Delgado. You gotta keep moving forward or else you could get stuck in cement. It's like the cement in this truck. That drum doesn't start turning, the cement inside will harden and get stuck. Is that what you want to happen to you?'

'No sensei.' Everyone shouted.

'Good. Then climb up, get inside and make it spin.' Sensei said.

I trust his opinion. I pulled off my sweatshirt, leaving me in my sports bra. I heard a whistle behind me.

'Eyes off.' Miguel said to the one that whistled.

'Do it again and I will end you.' Hawk added.

I climbed up the ladder and looked down.

'Anyone else joining me?' I asked rhetorical.

'Sensei, we're sorry for messing around.' I heard Aisha say as I made my way in the cement truck.

'We learned our lesson.' Hawk said.

'Get in!' Sensei shouted.

'Sensei this seems dangerous. I mean the fumes alone.' 'Quiet.' I heard Miguel saying but he was cut of by Kreese.

'This man let you to the mountaintop and you question him?' Kreese asked. 'Look at you. Look at all of you. I can't believe this pathetic pack of pussies competed at the All Valley and let alone won. I mean miss Delgado couldn't join but even she is already in the cement truck, braver than you trying to do all the work by herself. I mean it's a miracle you won. And who is responsible for that miracle? Johnny Lawrence. The best student in the history of Cobra Kai. My student.'

'You were sensei's sensei?' Hawk asked.

'You better believe it kid.' Kreese said. 'And I tell you I've never trained a tougher student in my whole life. So if you know what's good for you, you better listen to every goddamn word he says.

'I do it sensei.' I heard Miguel say.

'Finally.' I shouted from the inside when Miguel came in. Miguel slipped on the cement and I laughed at him.

'You are crazy, going in here by yourself.' Miguel said.

'Thought we were gonna let you do that alone, no way.' Hawk added when he walked in.

We put our hands on the side of the cement and started to push it.

'Okay this isn't working, we have to work together.' I said to everyone. 'On three. One. Two. Three!'

The truck finally started to move a little.

'A little bit faster!' We heard sensei shout.

We started working harder and the cement truck went a lot faster.

'We're doing it!' Hawk said enthusiastic.

As we were out of the truck, sensei aimed a hose at us and sprayed us down with water.

'You should all be proud of yourselves.' Sensei said. 'I know I'm proud. Your parents would be proud, if you told them what we did here today, which we won't. You pushed forward like champions. Never stopping. Never been satisfying. Never giving up. And if you keep pushing and keep moving forward, you're gonna go to places you never even dreamed of.'

I was walking to the supermarket and got some beer for my father. I walked outside and saw Johnny, Kreese and Daniel all standing there.

'What are you even doing here?' Johnny asked Daniel.

'I came to ask you a question and I got my answer.' Daniel said. 'You're both in for a rude awakening.'

'Everything okay here, gentleman.' I asked them making sure there is not going to break out a fight.

'Everything is fine, firecracker.' Johnny said. 'Aren't you a little too young to be drinking beer? What are you sixteen?'

'I'm fiveteen and it's for my dad.' I explained.

'Need a ride home?' Daniel asked concerned.

'Nah it's okay I walk.' I said while walking towards the street.
