I heard my father come down the stairs and he opened the freezer. Pretty sure I have a fever now.
'I hope you learned your lesson, bitch.' Father said.
I walked upstairs to change in my work out clothes. It is hot outside so better dress to survive the sun.
I saw the rest of Miyagi-Do already there standing in the grass.
'This heat wave is a gift.' I heard Sensei LaRusso say.
'Speak for yourself, sorry I'm late my father needed me.' I said announcing my presence.
'That's okay. Today you are going to experience Shochu-Geiko.' Sensei explained.
'Like the car insurance?' Chris asked making me snicker.
'Shochu-Geiko is a Japenese exercise where you train during the hottest days of the year.' Sensei answered. 'It's about pushing yourself to your limit. The fight isn't always gonna come when it's seventy-five degrees and breezy.'
'Aren't we supposed to avoid fighting?' Sam asked.
'Sometimes you can't. Someday the fight may come to you.' Sensei said. 'I want to make sure you're ready. So today, we're gonna see what Miyagi-Do is made of.'
'Well that was motivational.' I said.
Robby stood inside the circle and we needed to get a hit on him when your own number was called. Sam was the first one that got a hit on him.
'All right, Demetri's turn.' Sensei said.
'Don't worry bro, I won't kick too hard.' I said to him.
'Why don't I believe you.' Demetri said.
'Well now I'm offended.' I replied.
Number three and six got a hit on Demetri.
'Ten.' I heard Sensei say and that was my number.
I pretended to hit him on the left side but switched to hit his right side. I pulled my strength back and hit him gently.
'Can we please take a break, this heat is brutal.' Sam said.
'You guys want to cool off. All right I think I can accommodate that.' Sensei said.
We stopped before a storage with a freezer. Everyone else was already in but I was frozen on spot.
'Emilia, you okay?' Sensei asked me.
'Don't make me go in there.' I pleated to him.
'Whoa, it's just a storage room. Look nothing can happen.' Sensei said.
'I can't do this.' I said with tears in my eyes.
'Okay, you don't have to. Why don't you go back to the dojo and when we are done you will see us arrive, okay?' Sensei asked.
'Yeah, okay. I can do that.' I said and walked out of the building.
I can't handle another day in the freezer.
'So how was the training?' I asked Demetri as the others came back.
'I punched someone!' Demetri said with enthusiasm.
'Nice, I knew you could do it.' I said while patting him on the back.
'So, what was that with the freezer?' Demetri asked.
'I, um, just bad memories.' I explained vaguely.
