Leon Kennedy and Y/N

Chapter 3

In between each layer of the facility there was a sterilization room with a cooldown of a certain amount of time, which Leon and Y/N waited in before entering each new layer of the facility. Thought the cooldown typically took only a few minutes, as they entered a particularly sensitive room of the lab that took much longer to sterilize them, the cooldown was 3 hours. Leon and Y/N entered the room and sat down on the ground next to each other.
"I guess we have a lot of time to kill" remarked Leon to Y/N.
"I'll take first watch" Said Y/N. "You can get some rest"
"No way, Jose" replied Leon. "You probably haven't slept in days. You sleep first"
"Ok, wake me up in a few minu.... " Y/N whispered, falling asleep mid sentence.
Leon chucked to himself at their efficiency in falling asleep and Y/N's head slumped onto his shoulder. Leon looked surprised and looked over at them sleeping on his shoulder. He stared into their dreamy, peaceful face and started to feel conflicted. Did he feel this way about Y/N because he was assigned to save them? Or was it something more? He felt an instinctive and powerful desire to protect them at all costs. He smiled at them and looked forward, waiting for the three hours to pass.
