"Ow! Fuck!" Was the first thing Serena heard that morning. Cracking an eye open she waited for it to get adjusted to the morning sunshine when she realised there was none. She opened both eyes to see it was dark outside. The alarm clock on her bedside table read 5:25 am.

She looked around her room to spot a shadow in the corner near her closet and immediately switched on the lights.

"Dude! What the fuck?" She saw her best friend Eli hunched over looking for something in her closet.

"Not too bright, head hurts." He spit out covering his eyes with the back of his hand. Serena dimmed down the lights looking wide eyed at the boy who stood in front of her. "What are you doing here at fucking 5 am?"

"Looking for aspirin?" He shrugged. "How'd you get in?" She asked confused. "Well remember the key you gave me for emergencies? Yeah." He smiled sheepishly.

"Fucking hell Eli, you scared me!"

"I'm sorry babe. I'm just too hungover to function right now." He popped in an aspirin and walked over to drink water from the glass she had on her bedside table.

Serena sighed and opened her emails. Might as well if she was up.

"So how's it going?" Eli sat in front of her on the edge of her bed. "Well so far so good. I'm taking a little break after my tour and I've been writing a few more songs every now and then." Eli nods.

Serena and Eli have been best friends since they she saw him stumbling around drunk trying to find this dorm on her first week at UCLA. When he responded to her concern with a "I'm a bad bitch." She instantly knew they'd be good friends.

"That's good! I've been wanting to film with you for a while though."

"Yea sure I don't mind I'm practically free for the next few months except the occasional meeting and appearance here and there."

"Alright then! So we're having a day out! We'll go out for lunch, catch a movie or two. You can even call that bitch who you call a friend." He rolls his eyes.

"Hey! Maya is not that bad!"

"Not Maya! I love Maya! Did she get with Xander yet?" He wiggled his eyebrows. "Not yet they're both too pussy to admit they're like in love with each other."

"Ugh I know right! Anyways I was talking about that bitch Nadine." Serena looks at him confused. "You've met her like three times." She deadpanned.

"Whatever bitch, she's still a hoe." He mutters.

As she was checking her emails she came across a particular one.

"Holy shit dude!" Serena yelled which caused Eli to look at her in alarm. "What? Is it an emergency? Did someone die? Is there a sale at Gucci and no one told me?"

"No! What the fuck? No. So you know those YouTubers Sam and Colby?" She asked. Eli seemed to ponder on that for a while before answering.

"Oh yes! The blonde one and the hot one with tattoos? Oh lord what I would let that man do to me." He whistled.

"Yes them. No need for you inner fantasies right now. So they just emailed me asking me to be in their latest series at the Conjuring house!"

"Oh my god no way! That's so cool!" Eli hugged his best friend. "You've always been into that voodoo shit anyways." He added.

"Hey! I'm a believer alright?" Serene sternly stated. "Ma'am yes ma'am." Eli mock saluted her.

"What are you waiting for respond to them damn it!"

"Okay okay I'm typing." Serena began to type out a response.

"Dude Eli! Why would you save those contact names on my fucking phone?" Eli just shrugged in response and handed the phone back to the girl.

"Bitch could you have been any drier?" Eli, who was reading the texts from behind her scolded. "I'm sorry I dunno how to do this man I've got social anxiety." Serena whined.

"Also you get to come with if you want and Maya!" Serena was really excited to spend the week investigating the paranormal even though she couldn't show it on the outside.

"Hell yes! But I'm scared"
