Bright sun shines up the sky, slowly getting warm. Slight winds hitting the curtains making them fly around. In the room there's a bed, closet, mirror and a bathroom. On the bed there's a big blanket covering Minx who hides away from the cold.
"Ugh..." Minx says as she slowly takes the blanket off of her.
She slowly goes to her closet to get her clothes and makes her way to the bathroom.

After doing her thing she makes her way out of her room and down the hallway into another room full with bunk beds.
"C'mon! Wake up!" Minx yells with a smile on her face as she walks down through the space between beds. Heads start to pop up from the beds one by one.
"We got papes to sell! Probably a new headline!" Minx says as she stands in front of the bathroom in the room. Everyone then starts to get off bed and walk towards the bathroom.
"Wash your faces, it'll wash off your tiredness" She says as she walks around the bath.
"Morning, Minx" Someone says from behind her. Minx turns around with a smile on her face, knowing who it is.
"Heya, Nova! How you doin?" Minx says as she pats the slightly shorter girl on the back. Nova was the second in command of Queens. When Minx is not there, Nova is in control. Nova was a year younger than Minx. Minx is 19 which makes Nova 18. Nova has black hair, greenish eyes with a perfectly shaped face with cute freckles and dimples.
"All alright, I guess. Hoping we have a good head line for today's papes." She says as she brushes her teeth.
"I'm hoping too," Minx says as she turns around and walks out the bathroom. "Alright, girls get ready, and meet me downstairs as usual" Minx says as she walks out of the room and heads towards another door that says 'Boys'. Minx then opens the door and sees little bit of bunk beds in the room.
"C'mon boys. Wake up." Minx says as she each goes to them, pulling their blankets off. Some groan and some don't even care. About 1 minute, slowly one by one start getting off their beds and go for the bathroom.
"Get ready and head downstairs." Minx says as she head out the door and close it.
Minx is a leader to both boys and girls. Mostly girls. She thinks that girls can also sell papers instead of begin in houses and cooking all day. When she sees a homeless girl with nothing, Minx takes them in and gives them shelter in return selling papers. Minx also saves boys, when they have nothing. Boys go to other territories but they kick them out, so Minx takes care of them.
Minx waits downstairs for all of her newsies. About 2 minutes go by and tons of footsteps are heard coming down stairs. Soon they all gather up in front of Minx with little smiles on their faces.
"Alright, now that we're here. Let's go out there and sell papes" Minx says with a smile. She leads them all outside and to the newspaper stand to get new papers. She get's her hundred papes and then sits down next to Nova.
"So what's the headline today?" Minx says as she looks at the new paper.
" 'Baby born with two heads'" Nova says while inspecting the paper.
"Must be from Brooklyn" Minx says with a giggle. Nova then smiles.
"Alright. Go to our usual spots then after your done selling, head back to the lounging house." Minx tells her newsies. They all nod and separate.
Minx goes her own way to sell her papers. She sells her paper really quickly through. With one stare of her eyes, people buy a paper. It's like she's controlling them. It's been like 10 minutes and she sold her last paper. She then decides to go back to her dock on the river to work on somethings. When time pasts by most of her newsises return to the dock finish with their selling. As she was focused on something, she hears a knock on the door.
"Come in." She says as she finishes up. The door then opens and Nova comes in.
"Nova what brings you here?" She says with a slight smile.
"Three boys came and they want to talk to you. They from Manhattan." Nova says.
"Well bring them in. Let's see what Jacky boy wants." Minx says with a slight smirk. Nova then walks out and brings three boys with her.
"Well if it isn't Jack Kelly's newsies. What brings all three of you to Queens?" Minx says as she wears her hat that covers her eyes.
"Well we came here to send you a message from Jack." One of them says with glasses.
"Okay. So what does Jack want?" She says curiously.
"Well he wants you to join in on the strike." The other butts in.
"Strike? Strike about what?" Minx says confused.
"They raised the price on the papes!" The last one says angerily.
"No they didn't. I sold my papers a few hours ago. Can't be possible." Minx says. Just then a girl comes running into the office.
"Minx! They jacked up the price on the papers!" She says out of breath.
"What?!" Minx says, losing her mind. She then looks at Nova, which is nodded her head in disbelief. Minx takes a deep breath to calm herself down.
"So why couldn't Jack come here to Queens to tell me himself?" She says as she takes off her hat to look up at the three of them. All three were at loss of words.
"B-because he h-had to talk to P-Pulitzer." One with glasses say as he continues to stare into her eyes.
"Well if he want's me to join then he'll have to give me a good reason too. But I want him to come to me. He can bring whoever he wants." Minx says as she places her hands on her hips.
All three boys nods slowly while looking at her, mesmerized. They soon left the room slowly and walk out of the dock.
"Why they have to jack up the price?" Minx says quietly to herself...
