Chapter 15

It has been more than two months since the accident happened and you're now faring well except, you don't know where you are at the moment. You didn't know if it was because you were gone for so long that you don't even remember the way around now!

For some reason, you're currently in a park not far away from school. "Quack." You looked at the ground and saw a toy duck that was similar to the duck on top of the head of one of Vasco's friends. You were about to pick it up when small hands grabbed the rubber duck before you. "Da!"

You were surprised when you saw a familiar cute child, "Zami!"

"Yenna!"

You looked up from the child and saw someone you didn't expect to see, "Eli?" Your head tilted to the side in confusion.

"(Y/N)!" His surprise was no less than yours, he didn't expect to see you there. "Da!" His gaze immediately went to Zami and said, "Yenna, That's dirty. Give it to Daddy, okay?"

Meanwhile, the child continued to strangle the poor duck. "You're Zami's dad?" You asked.

Eli looked like he was caught in the act. "I..."

He said he would tell you the story and escorted you to the nearest bench. Eli is a single dad and Zami's real name is Yenna.

"I can't believe it. So you're the father of this cute child?" You said and gushed over Yenna who looked over at you and said, "Ma!" You just laughed it off and Eli blushed furiously. Even his child was considering you as her mother! "So that's why you disappear as soon as the school hours end."

"Yeah, I'm raising her alone. It's so much work. I can't even play with her because I have to work. Once the daycare center closes, I have to take her to my hair salon and work, haha." Eli explained, he thought you'll probably judge his ways of bringing Yenna up but that was not what was on your mind. "Last time I wasn't paying attention I lost her, if it wasn't for you, I don't know what I would've done." You felt bad for Eli, he doesn't have anyone to run to whenever he needs help. It's also painful to hear how low he thinks of himself. "I'm a failure as a dad, aren't I?"
