The Doctor took my hand leading us into another piece of our timeline. We walked down a dimly lit corridor that smelled of old newspaper. halfway down the hall I hear the Doctor say my name from an open door ahead. I take the lead and rush through the door into the moment I have no memory of because I wasn't actually there. I was in a television.
The Doctor is standing in front of my faceless figure. I had never seen such rage in his eyes before now.
"They did what?" He asks a detective in the room. I hadn't heard what was said either.
"I'm sorry?" the detective responds.
"They left her where?" The other Doctor asks. His voice growing colder.
"Just... in the street." the detective answers.
The Doctor stares at my empty face with fire in his eyes.
"In the street. They left her in the street. They took her face and just chucked her out and left her in the street." A sudden change takes place in the Doctor's features. "And as a result that makes things...simple, very simple. Do you know why?" He finally turns back to the detective removing his glasses.
"No."
"Because now, Detective Inspector Bishop, there is no power on this earth that can stop me!" He turns back to the faceless me then makes way for the door. "Come on!"
I feel a rush of air flow past me as the Doctor rushes by with the other men close in tow.
I turn to the present Doctor.
"You climbed a tower to save my face." I chuckle.
"Couldn't have you with no smile could I." The Doctor puts a snuggling arm around me bringing me into his side.
"You know, There's only one more stop after this...well technically one stop with several moments." He says as we make the short walk back to the Tardis parked in a closet.
"Just one more? I feel like there should be at least ten."
"Maybe, but these are the most eye opening wouldn't you say?"
"Yes, I suppose you're right about that." I lower my head to watch my feet make the steps into the Tardis again.
The Doctor begins setting the Tardis. I stand back a bit to not get in the way of his frantic precise circling of the motherboard.
"Doctor?"
"Rose Tyler?"
"What happens after this last trip?"
"What do you mean?" his circling slows but he still doesn't look away from the controls.
"Are you expecting me to go away with you again? Or are you planning on quick pops around the house every month or so? I can't leave John, Doctor. You know that don't you?"
Finally he stops and comes to stand before me breathing slightly heavier.
"Truthfully I was hoping he would just dissolve into dust by now." He smiles but I hold my ground.
"Doctor, if anything this trip has made me realise that.... we've had our time. They may not have been what he hoped for but they were there. John and I...we still have so much to learn. Especially how to be a normal couple with normal problems. Things a Time Lord would never have to worry about."
I look into his eyes seeing the defeat in them.
"So you have made your decision then?"
"I think so."
"Well then." he walks back over to the controls. "I guess this last stop is irrelevant." he goes to change the course.
"Wait. What is the last stop for you?"
His smile radiates sadness.
"Does it need saying?"
Immediately I know where he wanted to take me for our last memory.
"One last stop." I tell him.
"One last stop." He flips the lever and we hurl ourselves to the end.
