Still A Part of Me- Rose Tyler & Doctor Who Fan Fiction

Chapter Two

"Good morning John Smith." I chuckle into his ear in bed which makes him groan and try to roll over but I catch his arm and turn him back wrapping my arms over and under his body. he finally opens his eyes and gives me a good hearted glare.
"you are loving this aren't you."
"what do you mean......John." I giggle again.
"look I know it is different but I think it is time to make my own life. 2 years is long enough."
"I think so too but don't get angry if I take a bit to grow accustomed to calling you John."
"of course not." he kisses my nose and I giggle again.
Letting go of him I get up and throw a top on then throw him some trousers and trod out to fix breakfast. I set eggs, pancake mix, and bread out to start when I hear a loud knock on the door.
"who's that!" John calls from the bedroom.
"I don't know!" I yell back as I walk to the door.
the stranger knocks again right as I reach for the handle so I open the door quickly.
"this isn't possible." I am frozen with a death grip on the door as The Doctor runs a hand through his slightly messy hair.
"hello rose tyler." he smiles mischievously at me in the way he always did when he thought of something crazy. i just looked at him standing there like it was the most normal thing these days except it wasn't. He wasn't supposed to be here or anywhere near here. He is supposed to be in the other dimension where i came from. the place he told me two years ago on Bad Wolf Bay that i could never go back to and now here he is on this seemingly normal day.

"how?" is all i manage to say.

"well....you know how i said the spaces between this dimension and the next sealed themselves off forever? apparently they didn't. not completely anyway. i found a pocket, very small, very hard to squeeze a tardis through anyway but i did it so here i am." The Doctor gestures to himself with a smile. The way he smiled at me made me suddenly realize John was probably coming any minute to see who was at the door. For the sake of John and mines relationship i knew i had to keep The Doctors sudden reappearance a secret at least for a liitle while. before i could say anything The doctor started talking again.

"Your hair is longer.....and you look older in your eyes. How long has it been? i tried to keep the time reletiely the same as the time i found the pocket in the other dimension. if i did, there should only be about....7 months since Bad Wolf Bay."

"Its been 2 years and 3 months. i grew my hair out too." my voice is so calm it almost scares me since on the inside i am freaking out.

The doctors eye go big for a moment and start darting around looking for somehting. without warning he rushes over to a neighboring door and swipes a newspaper bringing it back to where he was.

"2 years and 3 months." he reads the date on the paper. "so....how have you been?" he looks back up at me this time with an embarrased smile.

"i'm fine but look you can't be here right now. John will see you and i don't want that right now so please can we just meet somewhere later?"

"John? Whos Joh- . My clone?" The Doctors face scrunches ever so slightly which i know from our time together and even from his clone that that face mean't he was not fond of somehting.

"Yes, who did you think would be here? You practically gave him to me that day. We....are trying to make it work." i shrug feeling uncomfortable talking with MY Doctor about John.

"Oh umm...sure we can talk later. i'll send you a time and place." The Doctor hurries off around a corner without another word.

only a few seconds later as i am closing the door, John rushes over.

"Who was it?"

"Oh just...a neighbor asking for donations for something." i close the door and immedately go back to the kitchen and continue breakfast thinking how in the world i will be able to have both of them here without something happening that takes one away again.
