Still A Part of Me- Rose Tyler & Doctor Who Fan Fiction

Chapter Eight

We land once again with tremendous turbulence. I look at the Doctor with an annoyed expression to which he responds with a smile and a shrug.

"This one was a little harder to navigate to." He explains.

"Should I be worried about what is out there?"

"Of course not! We aren't actually here remember. Think of it like a surround visual movie." he circles me once before heading hastily for the doors.

I follow him out to another scene.

The air is musty as we step out onto a metal platform leading down a narrow hallway that curves left up ahead.

"Where are we?" I ask. I obviously thought of the wrong destination.

"We're sitting right in front of a black hole."

I stare at him bewildered. I had no idea why this point would have a significance.

"And if I got the time right, I am about to descend into a very large pit."

I hold his gaze for a moment more before hastening around the corner.

The other doctor is suited up preparing to go down with one other crew member while the rest and some Ood hustle about. The other me is standing in front of him as he fondles with a machine on his arm. I can't make out what they are saying so I move in only feet from them as the other people and Ood move around me.

"I want that spacesuit back in one piece, you got that." The other me tugs on his suit front.

"yes sir." he replies then puts on the helmet.

"It's funny because people back home think that space travel's gonna be all....wizzin about, teleports, anti-gravity....but, it's not is it. It's tough."

The Doctor has his helmet lights on ready to go.

"I'll see you later."

"Not if I see you first." I smile and chuckle trying to make light of the intense situation.

The other me takes his helmet in her hands and leans him down to kiss the glass in front of his forehead. She lets go and he heads to the descending tube.

I watch me watch him descend completely unaware of what happens soon. unaware of the utter dread I will feel when I think I will never see the Doctor again.

The Doctor moves forwards closer to the other me still watching the tube.

"You had so much trust in me. You truly believed I could solve any problem."

"I was right wasn't I. You always did."

"Except when it came to you." He turns back around to me. "I got a lot of things wrong with you."

"And now you're trying to fix them?"

He stands close in front of me and takes my hand.

"Now I am fixing them."

He takes out a small device with his other hand and pushes a button.

I blink as I feel a slight pressure all over my body. When I open them the crew is standing around the radio. The woman, Ida, who went down with the Doctor is telling other me that the Doctor fell.

"Wasn't actually that long of a drop. Quite exhilarating really." The Doctor bounces slightly on the balls of his feet.

"She told me you said my name." I look up at him.

"I told her to tell you something, but then I figured you already knew."

"What did I already know?"

"That I love you."

I stare into his eyes in wonder.

"You were saying you loved me all the way back here? practically at the start?"

"Of course I was. Rose I've loved you since I met you, pre transformation, in that mannequin warehouse."

"I...I knew we had some sort of feelings going on, but I didn't think you could already be in love with me." I glance down at my hands and notice I am still holding the Doctor's hand.

"Let's go." He goes to push the button again.

"No, wait. I think I am about to say something I would like you to hear."

Just in time, the other me turns to the captain.

"I'm not going"

"Rose, there's space for you." The captain says.

"No, I'm Gonna wait for the Doctor. Just like he'd wait for me."

"I'm sorry but he's dead."

"You don't know him cause he's not....I'm telling you he's not....and even if he was, how could I leave him all on his own all the way down there? No, I'm...I'm gonna stay."

"Then I apologise for this." The Captain calls to the other two crew members who grab other me from behind and administer a sedative.

"You were going to wait for me even if I never came back? You were ready to give up your life?" He looks down just as shocked as I was a moment ago.

"Turns out the both of us were already crazy about each other." I smile.

"There's one last thing I want you to hear before our next trip." The Doctor presses the button again sending us to another time point.

Suddenly we are standing before a massive horned beast with the other Doctor standing in between two vases.

"Oh my God." I whisper upon seeing what truly lay under us.

"If I believe in one thing. Just one thing. I believe in her." Then with a huge rock he smashes the vases sending the planet hurtling toward the black hole.

Before a falling rock can hit us The Doctor sends us back into the Tardis.

"Hold on, where's the other Tardis right now?" I ask.

"Pulling their ship out of the black hole why?"

"Can you patch into that Tardis so we can see inside from here?"

"I'm sure I can, hold on a minute." He flicks some levers and turns some dials then motions for me to come over to the screen. I watch as the other me enters the Tardis and jumps into the Doctor's arms.

"Ok we can go now."

He gives me a smug look to which I roll my eyes.

"Why couldn't we have said all those things to each other instead of going around and about for so long?" I ask him as he sets the next memory.

"I don't know. Based on everything we said I believe we just assumed the other knew everything."

"It still would've been nice to hear it though." I mumble.

"Plenty of time for that. We still have a few more to go." He waits for my go ahead.

"Alright then, lets go on." I give him a small hint of a smile and a nod and away we fly to another moment in time.

Yes I know I said the chapters were going to be short. this one just had too many moments in it! Others Will most likely not be as long.
