Meredith POV

A few weeks had gone by, and we got a call from Callie, we had to fly back in to Seattle for the meeting. They were talking about suing the company for the plane crash, but they also offered a settlement, but we all had to be there. Cristina denied flying back in, she hadn't been able to catch a plane very since she went to Mayo Clinic. The good thing about Boston was that the distance by plane wasn't that long, but we all wanted to avoid that so we just drive. It's almost a whole day but we went once to visit. Hopefully when we start to fly again we'll be able to visit each other every weekend.
- Derek do you have everything you need?
- Yes
- And Zola's stuff
- Also yes
- Okay I guess we are ready
We landed in Seattle and Callie was waiting for us with Sofia, who was happy to see Zola. They were very close before we left, it's probably the only thing Zola misses about Seattle. She gave us a ride to our house, we hadn't been able to rent it yet, which turned out to be a grate thing since we'll be flying back often until we sort everything out with the plane crash. After that we went to the hospital for the meeting. Callie was there for Arizona and Mark, I was representing Lexi as well as myself and Owen was Cristina's proxy.
- we can offer you this one time settlement, you agree not to bring up any of this again. And the decision has to be unanimous. You have three days to decide.
Our lawyer recommended us we take it, it was a grate amount of money and it would save us the trouble of having to deal with a trial. As we went to say hi to our friends I saw April
- Hey Kepner, what are you doing here?
- Hey Mer, didn't you hear, Owen hired me back. I'm still looking for a place to live. Hey you still have your mothers house? I'd pay rent
- Sure, yeah I still have it and I'd love for you to live there. I don't want to sell it but it's being quite expensive to keep it. You can live there, no need to pay rent, just pay for the expenses.
- OMG Mer you are the best!!
Derek looked at me surprised
- Did you just give away your mothers house for free?
- No, I let her live there as long as she pays for the expenses. It's good, I wasn't going to sell it and I really want it to be like the frat house it always was for me. I'm sure kepner will find some housemates and the house will keep its spirit. And we don't have to pay anything.
- Fine you can do what you want, it's your house anyways.
After we saw all of our friends we went back to the house, we were staying here until we reached an agreement.
- you know being here, it's kinda sad we never got to live here, we were what, a month? And you spent a year building it
- I already told you I'll build another house if that makes you happy
- As long as it has a deep tub
- I know, I know it has to cover your knees and boobs at the same time

We both laugh, sitting in the sofa while looking at the beautiful landscape, Derek was hugging me from behind, and it felt as if we had never left.

- Do we think we should settle? I mean it's a lot of money Derek
- I don't know, it would be grate to have that much money. But what if something comes out of the investigation, then we can't do anything about it
- Then we don't settle
- Agh I don't know Mer, I say we have three days to think it
- You are right, should we go to bed now?

...

Derek POV
I went to see the plane parts. Everything came back to me, every scream, every cry, I really couldn't remember why I had done this in the first place. I saw the seat where mark was, and the part that landed over Lexi.
- What happens to this, if we settle?
- Then the investigation stop, they'll just throw it all away
I went straight to the hospital, we couldn't settle, if we did, then this would happen again, they'd never know what failed and it would happen again
...
Everyone was in that table, ready to settle. I arrived just in time to stop it. Only one of us being against to settle was enough, it had to be unanimous. But still, I wanted them to understand why we couldn't settle
