SIPPY CUP, MELANIE MARTINEZ
TW - MENTIONS OF EATING DISORDER - past
SITTING IN FRONT OF THE TOILET once again, Dee whipped her sleeve across her mouth. Being home in Texas for Christmas with the family used to be Dee's favorite ritual. Until of course becoming a teenager and Christmas cookies weren't enjoyable as much since all she did now was count how meany calories was in the batter.
Checking the calories on every meal or snack she had became a habit since entering her teenage years. Being criticized about being the fat kid at family events only made it worse for the 16-year old girl.
Everybody bothered her about it, except abuela.
Feeling lightheaded from the lack of food she had ate for the last 4 days they had spent in Texas, has started to take affect on the teenage girl. She was doing fine with her life until she was reminded about the visit they would be taking.
The visit to Texas only caused more problems than solve them.
"Tell me, Dee. How do you feel?" Dr. Banner asked. Sitting in her office, bouncing her leg- looking at the ground.
"Angry." Dee started. "I feel angry that all they do is talk about how i need to lose weight when my tio's BMI is probably reached capacity." She halted, looking back up at the smiling therapist. "Sorry."
Dr. Banner leaned forward in her chair, softy smiling at the teenage girl in front of her. "It's okay to be angry, Dee."
"I just sometimes wish that people would just...mind their fucking business."

"I mean, why cant they stay at a hotel for once. A spa day wont hurt."
Dee chuckled at her younger sister, fixing a cup of tea for the both of them. "I am so thankful that I'm an adult."
Zee shot her older sister a glare, accepting the drink and taking a sip before speaking again. "It's like boundaries didn't exist at her time." She sighed.
"Whose time?" Bobby asked, reaching the top of the stairs with Hen and Buck on his tale.
Zee got up from her seat at the barstool to greet the older man. "Bobby!" She greeted him with a warm hug.
Dee leaned on the counter top, watching as her close friends engaged with small talk with her younger sister. Buck went to grab an apple from the counter top, standing next to Dee. "So, whose time are we talking about? Jail time? Tokyo time? What time?" Buck questioned, chewing on his apple
