Chapter 10

Will P.O.V

I froze, my mind reeling.

There in the trunk of Nico's limo were two demigods. Two demigods who happened to be my best friends.

Lou Ellen and Cecil.

What. The. Fuck.

The two of them shared an embarrassed expression, they fumbled trying to get out of the trunk, hanging their heads in shame. My eyes searched them for any possible reasonable reason as to why they might have been riding in the back of our trunk without telling one. No surprise whatsoever, I couldn't think of one.

Cecil flinched when he looked around, no doubt, meeting everyone's glares. A small pang of sympathy ran through me, but I pushed it away.

"Answers now!" I shouted, the others took a step back, not used to a peeved Will Solace. Except for Nico, who—to my delight—, had a small side smile. But—to my sadness— immediately covered it up with a scowl. My frown dipped deeper, he was acting weird. I shook my head, Nicos not my priority right now.

Lou Ellen blushed, but then shook her head and stepped up.

"Well you weren't supposed to hear us until we got to Camp Jupiter —'' She paused to glare at Cecil who looked affronted.

"That was not my fault!" He insisted, I let out a loud ahem.

Lou rolled her eyes "Anyways we're here to be part of your guyses quest." She said, I almost laughed. Scratch that— I did laugh.

"Gods! Okay nice joke, now why are you actually here? Please don't tell me you were hooking up in the limo or something." My voice hoarse from laughing. They both flushed a bright red.

"NO!" Both of them shouted in sync. I rolled my eyes. They're bromance had been a long time joke at camp, It revealed that of Jasons and Percy's.

"We're being serious!" Cecil finally pitched "You're our best friend no way we're letting you go on this quest by yourself." I stared at them, mouth agape. Not able to believe that these two idiots really pulled a Percy and Annabeth—going on a quest without permission.

"I'm not alone!" I shouted at them, a part of me thought it was sweet, which I suppose it was. The fact they snuck out to get on a quest just to help me. But the majority was more worried about their safety. And admittedly a small shameful part of me was angry— angry because they just indirectly implied that I couldn't handle it myself. "I have quest mates! Powerful ones at that!"

"So?" Lou asked. "We know that Will! That doesn't mean we're letting you go without us." She stomped the ground, rubble flying off her shoe. A clear sign: You can't make me go back.

"Go back!" I said, my voice tried to be commanding. They faltered slightly but just shook their heads.

"If you're going, we're going!!" Cecil said gesturing between the three of us.s

Reyna stepped forward, shoulders back. The friendly attitude she adopted during the car ride was gone. She held herself with the confidence of royalty, and I felt a small burst of triumph, expecting her to order them to go back under some sort of fancy roman law, instead she held out her hand and said.

"We can talk about this later, for now get in the car, we're almost at New Rome." They both shook her hand before shifting into the back seat, leaving the rest of us outside, my mouth no doubt hanging wide open.
