"Do you generally receive letters?"

"Maya! Please switch off the light. I am trying to sleep. Unlike you, I have a lot of work tomorrow." Mohit muttered angrily. He was mad at his sister for ruining his beauty sleep.
It was 3 am in the morning and there was no ounce of sleep in Maya's eyes. The only thing that was keeping her up so late at night was the arrival of unwelcomed guests at her house tomorrow.
Well, they were not exactly unwelcomed guests since her parents had called them home but nonetheless, she didn't want the Malhotra family to visit them.
Mr. Sudhir Malhotra was an important client of the company her father was working in. Her father happened to make good professional relations with him during the course of their project. Nearly an year later, her father bumped into Sudhir, when Sudhir had visited Rajiv's workplace. He was glad to meet such a wonderful person again but was shocked to know that he would be leaving the company soon.
Sudhir wanting to spend sometime with Rajiv, suggested him to come over to his house for a cup of tea. The man really liked Rajiv's company. He saw him as a friend.
Rajiv was overwhelmed with the love that his new found friend poured him with but what made him surprised was the fact that even Sudhir was looking for a girl for his only son, Dhruv.
Dhruv was smart, handsome and what impressed Rajiv was the fact that he was polite and respectful. Even though they were one hell of a rich family, the boy made sure to greet him and take his blessings when he noticed his presence in his house.
Rajiv carefully initiated the conversation about his daughter, Maya and soon enough both the elderly men found themselves agreeing on making their kids meet each other. Rajiv graciously invited the family to his humble abode.
"Beta, this company not only sustained my family for 20 years but also helped me find a good family for my daughter before I could leave it. It's all in our destiny. Rajiv said to his daughter, sighing in contentment.
However the only thing now Maya was holding against her father's job was this marriage proposal.
After spending nearly the whole night on how to scare the boy away, Maya came up with a perfect plan. She planned to write a letter to this so called Dhruv Malhotra, warning him about the upcoming tsunami in his life. And just like that Maya sat on her reading desk with a pen and paper in her hand in the middle of the night.
"Dear Dhruv,
I am a well-known astrologer in Jaipur, Baba....
"What should I write?" Maya tried thinking of all creative names.
Baba Bhaangroo. The royal family of Jaipur treat me as their own, after all I have changed their lives for the better. I don't like to praise myself but you see the dying business of the Rajputs has finally gained momentum because of my predictions. This is no secret.
Maya giggled as she penned the story born as a result of her marvelous imagination.
The heavenly Gods came in my dream last night and indicated me that there are some major planetary changes happening in your life. The world is conspiring for you to get married but any new person coming in your life at this moment will wreck your life. They'll prove to be inauspicious for you. They'll be the beginning of your end. Mark my words. BEWARE.
