Viviana walks through the forest and questions her life choices, as one does when something insane happens. Which it did. She met Prince Cole. Even though he is on the newspaper almost every day, it was crazy to see him in person. She acted like an idiot didn't she? Why did she to act so stupid around him?
She wonders this as she walks through the forest and reaches Zinnia's home. Viviana cannot wait to tell her everything that just happened. The way she talked to Prince Cole. Well technically, he talked to her.
She opens the door and is greeted by Zinnia's parents. They are in the kitchen like they always are. It's not like they have to be, but it is the most calming room in the entire house. That is until Zinnia comes crashing into the room to greet her.
She was eighteen but had the energy of a child. Which was perfect because Viviana has the energy of an over worked stay at home mom even though she has never not worked since she was fifteen. She doesn't even have a mom. How should she know how they are?
"How was your day?" Zinnia asks her.
"Oh you know, the same as usual." She responds. She should wait until she is alone with Zinnia to talk about Prince Cole.
"That's cool," she starts, "Let's go upstairs, I wanna show you something!" The girls walk up to Zinnia's room. They sit down on her bed and Viviana asks what she wants to show her.
"Oh, right! Look at what I got from the books tree today!" Zinnia loves reading. Viviana looks at the books.
"Listen, Zinnia, something crazy happened today."
"What?" She asks exactly.
"Today I met Prince Cole!"
"Oh my goodness, tell me everything!"
"So I was walking home from work and he was wandering through town. He saw me and walked over. He asked what my name was but I didn't know how to respond. So I didn't. He smiled and kissed my hand." Viviana tells her. Zinnia's eyes go wide and she squeals with more excitement than ever before.
"No way!" She exclaims. "He is such a gentleman."
"I know! It was insane! He spoke to me!"
The two of them talk about this until they go to bed. Even though Viviana has her own room here, she often stays in Zinnia's room anyway. Viviana never falls asleep. Which is once again the opposite of Zinnia, who falls asleep within a few minutes.
The two girls wake up and head downstairs, it's too early for them to start talking again about yesterday. Neither of them can think straight at this hour. They sit at the table and eat a breakfast of morning flowers.
Zinnia's mom walks downstairs and greets the two girls with a smile. She walks over to the wood burning stove and turns it on. She walks over to the cabinet and grabs the tea kettle. Both of the girls finish eating at the same time. Viviana has to go back to work today so she says goodbye to Zinnia and her mom and heads out.
Viviana's mind becomes less foggy now that she is outside in the fresh air. That means she now remembers her encounter with Prince Cole. The one sided conversation she had with him. How he talked to her and she didn't say a word. She couldn't. He was way to handsome. Viviana might just have a crush on him. Might is the wrong word. More like, she definitely has a crush on Prince Cole.
She realizes this as she emerges from the forest and enters the daylight of the kingdom. She hopes with all her heart that she will run into Cole again but he's not there right now. Not like he would be. He must get good sleep to be that gorgeous.
She makes it to her work place just as her boss arrives.
"Good to see you Viviana." He says to her.
"Good to see you too Mr. Cox." She replies. Viviana goes into the tall building and walks to her desk. It seems good at the beginning of the day but always ends in tears when she gets out. Probably because she has all this time to think about everything with no interruptions. But as for the no interruptions part, today was definitely different.
It was started off normal. She sat down and charted the graphs and wrote notes down whenever a change in the sequence occurred. But after just two hours of this, there is a bang outside. It sounded like a gunshot. Then the alarm went off.
The building erupted into a screaming panic as everyone ran to the back door exit. Everyone except for Viviana. She knows what this is. In the time she finished her work early, she studied the alarm sounds. The one that sounded was for a drill whereas the real one would be louder. The gunshot sound was the sound of the alarm system starting up.
Nobody else seems to know this so she try's to tell people but they all just run out.
She sighs and goes back to her work.
Just as she settles back to doing her work again the doors of the building open wide. Standing in the door is Prince Cole.
