Viviana looks into the distance and wonders why she was forced to live like this. To work until she broke down crying. It's not like it was her fault. Maybe it was. But that thought made her sick. If only the Jelston's hadn't started that war. She could still be living in her old house with her father. The thought of her father made Viviana want to cry. Now she realized that she already was.

The war has been over for three years after the king died and his son took over. He nor anyone else in the kingdom wanted a war so they asked for an armistice and Viviana's kingdom agreed.

Viviana was born in a place of poverty. She had her newborn sister and parents and the small house, but that was all. When Viviana turned 12, her parents could not afford both her and her sister so they sent her sister to be adopted. Soon after Viviana fell into depression. Her parents knew but couldn't do anything about it.

One day, her mother mysteriously died even though she was perfectly healthy the day before. It was now just her and her father. He worked day and night so Viviana never really saw him. Even with him working constantly, they could barely afford the little house.

Viviana, now 15, still had depression and even worse than before. The small house she lived in with her father was now burned to the ground. Both her and her father made it out alive. The fire came from the kingdom Jelston which has been her kingdom's rival for centuries. The kingdom of Jelston declared war on her kingdom.

Soon after the declaration, Viviana's father got drafted for the war. Although Viviana is now old enough to provide for herself, it is difficult to find a new place to live and a place to work. Months go by and her father finally returns. Viviana now has a small shred of happiness since her father is back. But only a few weeks go by before her father disappears leaving her orphaned.

Since then, she has moved in with her best friend Zinnia. Even though Zinnia was a forest fairy, she still let Viviana live with her because fairies are not as small as people tend to assume.

When Viviana finally finishes her work and heads off to Zinnia's place it is later than usual. Every time she walks to the forest she gets weird looks from people. But this time, the people's eyes don't seem to be on her. She looks around to see what everyone is looking at when she sees someone. Not just anyone though. It was Prince Cole.

Viviana accidentally makes eye contact with Prince Cole. Instead of looking away and walking around to see the other people, he just looks at her. He walks over to where Viviana is standing. "Might I ask who I have the honor of meeting, love?" He asks politely looking directly into her eyes.

Viviana is awestruck and doesn't have the ability to make words come out. Prince Cole smiles and laughs slightly. She just stares at him in wonder as of he were some dream she wishes she could stay in forever.

She wonders if this is real or not. Can this be real? Is the Prince really talking to her? She looks into his sparkling blue eyes. Her mind goes blank as he grabs her hand and kisses it. All she manages to do is smile at him. "Well, it was a pleasure to meet you," he starts, "If you ever want to see me, you know where I live. I do hope I run into you again."

He walks off, his golden brown hair shining like it were covered in glitter. Viviana stairs at him at he walks off back in the direction of the castle leaving her amazed and wondering what just happened.
