The Day of Marriage
I was seated infront of a glass fixed with the wooden chest beneath it, that reflected my appearance in blur. From continually brushing on the glass surface, it has by now has turned into a polished, shiny looking glass that reflected anyone who stood infront of it, to almost as clear as still & clear water.
Hana plugs the last white rose in my hair strands. She then puts the white net veil on my head & hooks it so that it won't come out before she finally lifts my crown and carefully places it on top of my head.
The base of the crown demonstrated the waves in silver, above it are very tiny details of the patterns of the rivers in our Kingdom carved in silver and at last the water colored, royal blue gems fixed on it made the crown look so ethereal. Whoever had made this crown has my heart.
" I've never seen this beautiful of a person in my whole life and I doubt I will ever see.. You're ethereal, my princess! " Hana says, cupping my shoulders in her both hands and looking at my reflection in the mirror.
I smile at her reflection in the glass " Hana! Beautiful doesn't me— "
" No. I haven't said that just because you're looking beautiful.. I said that because you're beautiful, inside out! I've spent more time than anyone else with you, even more than your own mother. And I've known you better than anyone else. That's why I'm telling you that yn! "
I look at Hana with slightly rounded eyes, she had never called me by my name. Atleast not from when I remember.
" Hana.. " her name slowly faded from my mouth, I was going continue but couldn't when suddenly a girl wearing a simple lavender colored silk dress comes inside my room calling
" Mother! "Hana and I, both turn our heads to that girl. Her eyes travels down to me and her expressions becomes more worried. " Mother! " she calls again as she walks to Hana. She's Hana's daughter? She looks quite young for her age!
" Mother, I need to talk with you! " she asks Hana anxiously but her eyes are on me with pity overloaded in them.
Hana frowns her brows looking at her daughter before she answers " Yes, I'm listening! "
" I–I can't tell you her–here! " she stutters hesitantly.
I understood she wants to talk with Hana alone, so I got up holding a handful of my white dress in each hand and turn to them as I say " Hana.. I'm going ahead to meet father and mother before the marriage begins. You can take your time.. ! " I say and head towards the door of my room.
I had no intentions to overhearing them but before I had even stepped outside the room, Hana's daughter had already started speaking.
" They're plotting something! " she says.
Walking through the long and huge corridors of palace I couldn't stop thinking about what Hana's daughter was saying about. Plotting? Who is Plotting? More importantly for what?
And before I could stop thinking about it, I had already reached in the ceremony hall where all the religious rituals and ceremonies takes place, including marriages.
I was about to open the door wide open when I hear my mother from behind " Wait yn! "
I stopped immediately before I turn to face my mother.
