Where are you? [REVAMP] - HAECHAN

Chapter 6

When the members arrived, Haechan was on the bed deeply asleep as the Dr. and the nurse were by his bed when they noticed their arrival.

"Are you his friends?" the Dr. asks and they nod taking their places around his bed, looking at the tired figure before them.

"How could your friend here end up at our hospital like this? It must be a long road from where he comes from" the Dr. said and they felt bad for leaving him alone in this state.

"Did he wake up?" Taeyong asks and the Dr. nods.

"Yes, he did. I try to ask him if he knows what's going on but he seems to not know anything"

"That's — probably because of his sleepwalking" Johnny answers.

"Sleepwalking?" the Dr. asks intrigued.

"Yeah, it's been a few days since he is in this — situation" Mark answers next.

"And he walks up until the hospital?"

"It seems so?" Taeyong too has questions of his own, how such a thing could happen, the Dr. nods taking some notes.

"I think I might have to ask him to stay for a few more days, just to make sure that he is alright" the Dr. said and the rest just nodded understanding. Soon after, the Dr. and the nurse left leaving them alone with the patient.

"Well, at least he's okay" Doyoung sighed as his eyes never left Haechan.

"And he's at the hospital getting the treatment that he needs" Taeil continues as the rest nods.

"But, why the hospital though?" Jungwoo asks confused.

"I guess he just unconsciously ends up here?" Yuta tries to reason.

"Well whatever it is, he is safe and sound, our youngest here is in good hands now and that's the only thing that matters" Taeyong said, quick to dismiss any assumptions.

"I guess we will have to tell our manager then? That he will be here for a few days" Jaehyun asks and Taeyong nods confirming it.

"Well at least when we tell the news, Haechan already got his treatment but I'm sure the manager will still be worried about him, I will go and explain" he continues and Johnny says he's following him to meet with the manager.

"Can – I stay with hyuck tonight?" Mark asks still worried, they soften at his request.

"Yeah, go and take care of him" Johnny said with an assuring smile, and Mark nodded as he took his seat next to where Haechan was.

The rest bid their goodbyes before they left the two youngest behind. Mark was on his side, looking sad seeing his friend lying there still unresponsive.

"Wake up now, hyuck" he whispers enough for them to hear.

A few more hours went by when Mark felt someone holding his hand.

"Mark, wake up" the voice said and he sat straight as he realized he had fallen for a nap. The figure before him looked at him confused. Mark felt his eyes swelling with tears. Finally.

"Where am I?" Haechan asks him, he is scared and confused when Mark confronts him.

"What the hell, hyuck?!"

"W-whats going on?" Haechan spoke softly, surprised by the sudden outburst.

Mark tries to not be upset but his face betrays him.

"You were GONE! You were nowhere to be found! We search for you everywhere, EVERYWHERE! Just to have you end up here, at the hospital?! We were so worried Donghyuck, so so worried when we got the call, we thought something bad happened. GOD, I WAS WORRY SICK OF YOU!" he said mad, Haechan couldn't even meet his eyes.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry, I-I didn't know, this whole thing, it's — it's hard for me too" he stutters through his words and Mark instantly softens, feeling bad for scaring him, but he was just too scared of losing him.

"Do you — still didn't know what happened last night?" he asks softly and Haechan just looks defeated.

"Mark, is it getting worse?" he asked him back and Mark was quick to hold his hand and assure him that whatever he was going through he would be there for him, always.

"I will be here, never leaving your side again. You just need to be healthy, okay? just do that for me"

Haechan didn't reply anything to it, he was deep in his thought. Mark tries to ease him up, but it seems there are a lot of things going on in his head that Mark doesn't know about.

Nightfall came and they were ready to sleep. Mark was on the couch as he faced Haechan that is turning his back on him, probably felt comfortable that way.

"I'm going to sleep now" Haechan said, letting him know.

Mark looks at his figure from behind trying to figure out what is making his dear friend turn out like this.

"Promise me one thing, Haechan-ah"

"Hmm?"

"Promise me that you won't run away again"

His promise was met with silence, and soft breathing from the other. Mark thinks he is already asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow and decides to let go of his unanswered promise but as he is about to fall into his sleep, he hears the soft whisper from Haechan that makes him stay awake for the rest of the night.

"I promise you, Donghyuck will stay tonight"
