Where are you? [REVAMP] - HAECHAN

Chapter 7

Mark woke up the next day feeling tired. It was only when dawn arrived and he heard the small conversations between nurses that he finally fell asleep, knowing there was someone out there to look after Haechan as he gets some shut-eye, but the second he opened his eyes, Haechan was nowhere to be seen.

"Hyuck? Hyuck?!" he woke up instantly, stumbling his way to the door in searching for him when it suddenly opened revealing Haechan who just come in.

"Mark, what's wrong with you?" he asks seeing the worried expression on his face.

"I— thought you run away again" Mark answered, letting out a relieved sigh.

"I have people watching over me in this hospital, how could I run away" Haechan said with a hint of annoyance as he made his way into the room.

"Then, where did you go earlier?" Mark asks worriedly.

"To the doctor, I thought I could leave the hospital today but he insists for me to stay, ugh can you go and tell him that I'm alright" Haechan asks for a favor.

"But—"

"I thought you were on my side?" Haechan was quick to cut him off.

"Of course, I'm on your side, just—"

"Then say that to him. Besides, he wants to see you" he said nonchalantly.

"Me?" Mark asks confused

"Yeah, he says he wants to talk to someone close to me"

Mark just nods, the doctor probably wants to ask how all of this happened.

"Alright then, I will go. Just stay right here until I come back" Mark reminds him as Haechan rolls his eyes at him.

"You're getting on my nerves, just go Mark" he answers shortly before he settles in his bed. Mark was getting confused by Haechan's sudden change. Nonetheless, he didn't answer him and left to meet the doctor.

"Doctor? Do you want to see me?" Mark knocks on his door, catching the doctor's attention as he is busy reading a document on his hands.

"Ah yes, please come in" the doctor offers him the seat in front of him.

"What can I help you with, Doc? Is it about how Haechan got into this situation?" he asks and the doctor just smiles at him, noticing how thoughtful Mark is towards Haechan.

"Well Mark, are you close with Haechan?" the doctor starts with his questions.

"Yeah, he's one of my closest friends" Mark smiles a little.

"So you must know him well. Tell me, do you think Haechan is oddly different these days?"

"Well, if you counting what's happening right now— yes"

"Is there an instance— where Haechan felt like a different person?"

Mark was taken back for a second, and suddenly the moment of the night before came to him. He felt goosebumps when he remembered it, that one time when Mark doubted it was his friend, Donghyuck was with him that night.

"So there is" the doctor confirms as he nods his head and writes something on his paper.

"B-but what's that supposed to mean?" he asks nervously.

"Mark, I think Haechan and Donghyuck are different people"
