Reunions are supposed to be bittersweet; I once heard someone say. They're encounters filled with memories and the end of a long goodbye; those are the sweet points. Yet, reunions are also a bitter candy when you realized the day would soon end, that time wouldn't stop ticking no matter how much words and tears we shed. Reunions are supposed to be bittersweet, it's supposed to carry memories and bring another goodbye. Goodbyes; I wonder how many goodbyes we are able to give in a lifetime.

Despite carrying the principle of a bittersweet reunion. My reunion with Yukari was nothing sweet; the key to all of the memories locked up within is her.

"Hm, ah! How have you been?"

I stayed silent, watching the flustered purple head fiddle her fingers on the hem of her maroon skirt. She was taller than before, about half a head taller and her hair is now straight, she no longer possess those cute corky curls. "Hm, I should be going now. I'm keeping somebody waiting."

"Ah, that guy with glasses right?" Yukari gestured to her eyes, "Is he your boyfriend?"

"That's none of your business isn't it?"

She shuffled from one feet to another. If I remembered her correctly and if she remained unchanging, Yukari is a sly woman. Her plain mask is only the outer layer of her inner personality. She's cunning and sharp; perhaps a trait that she picked up from her brother and it reminded me so much of him.

"True, true." She gave a laugh, "the folks at home rarely heard of you anymore, you see. Well, and, they missed you -- I guess."

"Is that so?"

Her family consisted of a young lady as a mother, a golden labrador dog I named after my deceased turtle, and a baby that I know have grown up to be a toddler by this point. Yukari rambled on about how her family was doing and maybe about their daily activities; I couldn't catch up on most, my mind was still clouded with things I never knew could catch up to me after all these years.

"---would you come and visit sometimes? Ah! Maybe we could have dinner together on the weekends or does Friday works for you?"

I snapped out of my thoughts almost instantly, "Ah, I'm...busy."

"Modelling is tiring, huh?"

I nodded unable to respond to my own lie. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, cheeks flushed as the cold air kissed it. The wind blew quietly around as I noticed a tiny whirlpool of wind urged the leaves to dance along with it. The wind brought no resolve to our restless hearts, the wind could only blow cold air and not blow our problems away permanently. At this moment, I hoped that it could.

"Work is not the issue, is it?" Yukari sighed. "You're always avoiding things you'd rather not meddle with."

"So, what is it? Our family means nothing to you now, are we being a bother?"

"It's not that!" I shouted in protest as her tone also had raised a few notches up, "your happiness is something I'd rather not ruin, I don't fit Yukari -- I never fit into the picture perfect family you have!"

"Minoru did!" I flinched once she mentioned that name, "Minoru was once a part of our family, where is she now?"

Yukari gave a long sigh, turning her heels back on to where the entrance is. She tightened the washed out grey cardigan around her frame, maroon skirt fluttering with the wind like tiny dandelions being blown away. Her presence itself is overwhelming and as beauty I wouldn't want to ruin.

"I'm sorry to have bothered you, have a good day." She murmured vividly, tremor in her voice yet it never once lacked the pressure and tone she needs. "And you seem fine."
