Nate's Valentine's day dilemma

Today is Valentine's Day. A day of love and sweethearts and chocolates and-

Y/N: This day sucks...

Dry attitudes...Our young hero is traveling to school today with his yo-kai friend Lie-in who's holding a box in his hands.

Lie-in: What, are you afraid that you won't get any sweets?

Y/N: No it's just that now since the boys are elementary students they don't want to give valentines they want to get valentines, usually from a girl they like. Also, I'm pretty popular around so I feel like I'll get at least one. Speaking of valentines, whatcha' got there?

He refers to the box that the lion yo-kai's carrying.

Lie-in: Don't know. It was addressed to me but I don't know who it's from.

Lie-in quickly takes off the plastic and opens the box inside were a whole baker's dozen of heart-shaped chocolates.

Lie-in: *Sniff* *Sniff* Dark chocolate, my favorite.

The yo-kai dips the chocolates out of the box and then tosses the empty box at Y/N.

Lie-in: Here, in case you don't get anything.

Y/N: "Thanks pal".

Y/N quickly spots a message that was hidden underneath the chocolates.

"You're fluffy like Cloud 9, and that's how you make me feel -Cue-tee"

Y/N: ...I'll do you and Lie-in a favor, C-t.

Y/N then tosses the box in a nearby recycling bin.

Y/N: *Sigh* Well there are worse things than being a preteen on Valentine's Day. You could be a preteen Nate on Valentine's Day. Ever since he found out that Valentine's Day was her favorite holiday he's spent the past 3 months unsuccessfully mooching up to her all for her to give him a valentine as a token of her thanks and affection.

Lie-in: Hey, Y/N, are you going to stop monologuing?

Y/N: Huh? Oh, sorry.

And so the human boy and his yo-kai pal headed off towards the school not knowing the unplanned problem they'd have to solve.

Y'know how some stories make you go through the whole grueling school day like you would in real life? Well, we don't plan on doing that...at least not in this one. It's the final school bell of the day so all the students can go home now...but going home now would mean we'd have to end this story early, so we'll have to work with this. Y/N was waiting at his desk looking if anyone would give him a valentine.

Y/N: (Looks to left) Nope. (Look to right) And nope. *Sigh* Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it and there's no point worrying or stressing about something you can't do anything about.

Y/N looks towards his yo-kai pal, Lie-in, who's sleeping on his desk. Why doesn't anyone acknowledge an anthropomorphic lion sleeping on a desk? Cause he's a yo-kai and yo-kai can't be seen without the help of the yo-kai watch. If you didn't know, how'd you make it to this part of the story? Anyway, the lion usually did this whenever he came to school with Y/N, and although it's kinda irritating having a lion sleep on your desk there are some pros to it...He makes for a good paperweight.
