Candle POV:

I walked down the empty halls of Power High, In an attempt to find my sisters, Clover & Test Tube. "Candle? Is that you?" I heard someone call out to me. It was early morning, about 5 or 6 am. I knew Test Tube was usually up at this time, probbally with Fan or Bot, & Clover said she was going to wake up early so she can study with Cabby... I didn't expect anyone else to be up at this time. I turned around to find an exhausted Silver Spoon, who clearly just woke up from a nap. His eyes were only half open, & he was wearing an oversized sweater that said, 'This Patreon has a girlfriend'

"Oh, Morning Sil-" I was cut off by him walking up to me, & squishing my face. "Why are you up so late?" He said while grabbing my arm. We had been dating for about 5 months now, & he's been really overprotective of what I do since then. Specifically things like waking up early, sleeping too late, & skipping meals. None of which I can do anymore because of him. "I'm just checking up on Clover & Test Tube." I said as he stroked my hair.

"Are they awake?" He asked me, while grabbing my hands. "Yes." I was slowly trying to pull away from his grasp, knowing that right now I could run to find them, come back to bed, & we could both act like nothing happened. "Stop trying to run away dear, I'm genuinely concerned." He fully opened his eyes, stood up straight, & he was looking me dead in the eyes. "I know, Silver." I stood up straight, & also looked him in the eyes.

"I'll be back in our room in less than an hour if you let me go now." I pleaded, trying to make a compromise. "No." He said while picking me up bridal style. I was far too stunned to speak. The only other time Silver Spoon literally had to pick me up was a few months ago, after he found out when the last time I slept was, & that was even before we were dating! I quietly sighed. If Silver had to actually wake up from his beauty sleep, come around the school to find me, & pick me up... that was a clear enough sign that I should stop protesting...

A few minutes later we arrived in our shared room. He placed me down on the only bed in the room, & locked the door. After that he walked over to me... I was prepared for the worst... even though I knew Silver would never hurt me. He got on one knee. I got super scared... but... he hugged me... I flinched at the sudden contact. "There's no need to be scared, I'm here..." Silver said while still hugging me. I hugged him back.

"But I need to check on-" I was interrupted by a warmth on my lips. "They can wait." Silver said while pulling away. I smiled. "Now sleep, dear, seriously." He pushed me onto the bed playfully as I giggled. He got into bed next to me, & kissed my forehead. "You have people who care for you, people who would kill for you, people who are willing to die for you, dear... all you need to do is find them..." Silver whispered in my ear before I went to sleep.

That's when I realized something...

It didn't matter if Test Tube or Clover were okay or not. They had people around to protect them...

People who cared for them...

And maybe,

Just maybe,

I had people around me who were willing to protect me...
