An unusual love story

As months passed by, Mithra was getting more and more desperate for a baby in the house. Abhi and Samyu kept comforting her saying it will happen and just to be a little patient. They were all busy with work and school. Abhi had avoided big projects that involved out of the country shoot but this time it was different. He had been offered an amazing part in his idols movie. It was a supporting role but was an important character in the story. His idol had himself reached out to him and said that it would be great if he did this role. Abhi obviously could not say no. It had also been a while since he got to do a romantic dance in a commercial mass movie. He spoke to Samyu and Mithra about it and they encouraged him to take it up.

It was a 10 days call sheet to Paris and Switzerland. Mithra was more excited that Abhi. "Daddy marakaama Swiss chocolates naraya vaangittu vaanga. Ozhunga pics edunga. Kevalama selfies edukaadheenga. Pic edukka therinja yaarukittayaavudhu phone kudunga ok va" and 1000 other instruction were given for which he smiled and nodded saying, "ok da, seri da." Samyu and Mithra dropped him off at the airport and, for some odd reason, Samyu just couldn't control her emotions. She burst into tears. Abhi pulled her close to him and hugged her saying, "Enna maa achu unakku? Naan 10 days ku thaane poren. Nee ippidi ellam azha maatiye. Is everything ok?" She sniffled saying, "Ya I am ok. Yen ippidi loose madiri azharen nu Enakke therila but Neenga jagardhaya poitu vaanga. Heroine oda romba eyeshadeenga." He kissed the top of her head smiling, "unakku thaan theriyume naan cut nu sonna udane face kooda paaka maaten nu but seekiram unkitta thirumbi vandhiduven ok?" Samyu and Mithra had decided to spend the time at her parents house as Samyu too had recordings lined up. Before waving them bye Abhi reminded Mithu to behave and not trouble paati and thatha.

Samyu could not stop crying all the way home and Mithu was pacifying her. They reached home and Paati had made some yummy dinner. Samyu could barely eat anything. She felt nauseous so her mom made her some kashaayam and she went off to sleep. The next morning Samyu woke up feeling a little tired. She assumed that she might be coming down with a flu or something. She was literally dragging herself but was happy to see that her mom had taken care of Mithu's needs and had sent her off to school. Samyu was nauseous again while brushing her teeth but then it got worse when her mom offered her coffee.  She was absolutely sure that it was the pizza she had eaten a couple of days ago. She decided to keep herself hydrated and manage with BRAT diet for a day. Toast felt good. She had errands to run before she could go for her recording later in the evening.

She received a message from Abhi after he reached the hotel. He said that he hadn't slept on the flight and was exhausted. He just wanted to let her know that he had reached. She sent him a "kiss" emoji and messaged him to rest and that they can chat later. Samyu generally felt tired during the day but managed. She enjoyed the Milagu rasam at night and finally felt as though her body was slowly recovering. She was off to recording. It was a sad song and she was embarrassed because, out of nowhere and with no warning, tears started to roll down her cheeks. The recording was excellent and just perfect but the music director, who was a friend, came up to her concerned, "Are you ok Samyu? Eppovum unnoda sirippu control pannardhu thaan prachanaiya irukkum aana inikki dhideernu azharey? All ok between you and Abhi?" She smiled at him saying, "Ofcourse all is well. Ennanu Therila. I have been a little unwell so adhunaala mentally down aa irukalaam."

Days went by and Samyu was having the same symptoms but it wasn't bad enough to go see a doctor. In the back of her mind she knew that she hadn't had her periods yet but she wanted to give it some more time. This had happened to her before when her periods had been delayed and they would get excited only to be disappointed with a negative result and periods arriving in about a week. Mithu noticed that Samyu seemed a little irritable.  Mithu at first assumed that it was because she missed Abhi but when a full blown argument broke out between the two women over Mithu's procrastination, she was not happy. This was just the beginning of an emotional and hormonal roller coaster ride.

Ten days passed by and both the women couldn't wait for Abhi to be back and for him to judge who was right and who was wrong. They returned home the previous evening as Samyu had decided to cook something special for him. She also felt bad for having yelled at Mithu and wanted to make up for all of that. By this time, Samyu's nausea was only getting worse so on the morning of Abhi's arrival, when it had been over a week since her periods had been delayed, she decided to do the pregnancy test. She was extremely nervous and kept her eyes closed. She said a little prayer which giving the test strip some time. Finally, Samyu took a deep breath and opened her eyes nervously to see two solid lines. She looked at it once again and, with tears of happiness flowing down her cheeks, she picked up the result and walked up to Mithra room. She knocked saying, "Mithu I have something for you. Ulla varattuma?" Mithu had just woken up but she came up and opened the door to find a strip in Samyu's hand and tears in her eyes. Mithu was quite familiar with the test strip. Nervously she looked down only to scream in joy. She jumped and hugged Samyu. She kissed Samyu's cheeks saying, "Namma veetla kutty paapa varapordhu. Yes yes yes" she jumped. "Ayo Samyu idhunaala thaan nee loose madiri behave paniniya? I am so happy. Naan inniki school cut. I want to be here when you reveal it to Daddy. Enakku oru idea irukku."

Samyu laughed through her tears and hugged Mithu saying, "Sorry da Unna thittinadhukku. Mood swings, hormonal changes ellam thaan. Seri nee school poga vendaam. Enna plan nu sollu."

The ladies sat down to plan the revealing.
