Truth prevails

Mithra smiled and went to her Daddy for a hug and a kiss before heading out the door.

Samyu nodded although she was worried about what he wanted to talk to her about. She sat at the dining table. Abhi placed a rectangular steel plate which had 5 compartments. He first served sakkarapongal potato roast, then the beans paruppu usili, appalam, then came hot rice followed by a dollop of paruppu and a spoonful of ghee. She quickly ate the paruppu sadam and was ready for her favorite chinna vengayam arachu vitta sambar. It was delicious and, momentarily, the foodie forgot all her questions and relished the food. Abhi sat there watching her lick her fingers. Then came the tomato rasam followed by her favourite thayir sadam. He asked her to make a hole in the middle of the thayir sadam and poured a little bit of the marathangali vethakozhambu. It was heavenly. Ofcourse Abhi gave her company to eat but the excitement in her eyes and the way she licked her fingers were a delight to watch. After lunch she helped him clean up. He then directed her towards their porch where there was a beautiful swing and a chair but the stood there holding the railing. Samyu could not wait any longer, "Abhi unga kitta onnu kekkanum. Abhi looked at her and smiled, "My wife?" He laughed. He then held her hand gently and placed it on his chest where she could feel his heart beat. "Can you feel my heart beat? You know there is place only for one woman here and that has always been only you maa. You were, are and will always be my better half." Samyu looked at it eyes and all she saw was love. She did not pull her hand away but she asked, "Appo Mithra?" Abhi smiled, "Mithra came as a solace to my wounded heart. It was at that moment that Samyuktha realized that she had lost the authority over Abhi. She needed  Mithra's approval to become a part of their family now and this time, she had to be careful and sensitive. She could not afford to break anymore hearts.
