"Following the aftermath of the war, Ursa is unable to sustain themselves in the defense of their territories. Thus, in 1905, the Federation of Ursa officially admitted defeat and, under treaty mandates, restored oil and coal quarries in Hydra before pulling from the Canis peninsula with the departure of Alcor, ending the Grease War. With the establishment of an independent Canis, the Commonwealth was founded between Canis, Lepus, and Hydrus.
The war would change the policies of Ursa, making them ever more dictatorial and isolationist. Orion would also benefit from new trading partners as well as the oil resources it gained. Friendship between the commonwealth and Orion was developed.

Technological advancements.
The first carriers were built by Ursa during the Grease Wars, but these saw combat in the last year of the war. They were scrapped afterward. Carriers would not be built for decades until the Centauran Wars.
One of the first instances of aerial warfare would derive from Ursa with great success.

After becoming independent Canis had to confront the ecological disaster left behind. With assistance from Orion, the oil fires are extinguished in a year (firefighting equipment was not very advanced during this time period).
