Chapter eleven

Brian: * pulls up under a bridge and steps out of the car and helps Dani out of the car * alright baby girl come on
Dani: * groans in pain while holding her arm *
Brian: okay let me see your really quick
Dani: * slowly pulls her hand away *
Brian: yeah just keep holding pressure on it okay
Dani: * nods softly *
Brian: so is this the reason why you agreed to do this...to find out who is responsible for Jason's death
Dani: * looks away *
Brian: listen to me I know how you're feeling, you have vengeance clouding your mind, I've been down that road ever since I lost your mother but hear me out...don't let it consume you
Dani: * tears rolling down *
Brian: Jason wouldn't want you to go down that road...we both miss him, Dani
Dani: * doesn't say anything *
Brian: i'm gonna make a call really quick * pulls out his phone and starts calling Penning *
Dani: * wipes her tears *
Brian: * pacing back and forth as he waited to be transferred over to his supervisor *
Penning: talk to me O'Connor, where the hell have you been
Brian: * looks down * I got the shipment
Penning: * looks at a file in hand *I got the shipment, or we got the shipment
Brian: what are you talking about
Penning: traffic cams in the area picked up pictures of you, Toretto, and your daughter together
Brian: * takes a deep breath *
Penning: listen to me, O'Connor...bring in the shipment and bring in Toretto, your daughter walks out a free of this mess
Brian: * shakes his head *
Dom: * steps out of the car *
Brian: but I thought the point was to get Braga, we got and opportunity here
Dani: * looks at Brian worried *
Penning: Brian, the clock stopped ticking, bring Toretto in...are we clear
Brian: * see's a small blood trail that was leading to the back of the Hummer *
Dom: * looks at the cargo in the back of the Hummer * so this is what $60 million looks like
Dani: oh my god
Brian: * looks at the blood dripping from the back of Dom's shoulder * yeah we gotta get you to a doctor
Dani: yeah he's right, Dom
Dom: we got to find a place to hide this
Dani: and go where
Brian: well I got a spot
Dani: * looks at him *

Brian: * pulls up to the gate of the impound lot * 502, wet reckless, I need a 48-hour hold
The Guard: * gives Brian a ticket * out back, any spot you can find
Brian: * drives into the lot and parks the car in the back *
Brian, Dani & Dom: * steps out of the car and walks towards the exit *
Dani: * sighs *
Dom: you sure about this
Brian: yeah the last place they'll check, their own impound yard, trust me
Dani: * nods softly *
Brian: you know, I've been thinking, when you blew up your car back there, you blew ours too
Dani: mine too
Brian: so now you owe me and Dani a 10-second car
Dom: is that right
Dani: yep
Dom: * looks around the lot before coming upon a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STi GH *
Dani: wow what a beaut but Skyline is better
Brian: * chuckles *
Dom: * breaks the window with his elbow and unlocks the car *
Brian & Dani: * smile's *
Dom: * opens the door * now we're even, the two of you are just gonna have to share
Dani: * chuckles * I remember Jason doing that the last time we were at street race
Brian: seriously Dani
Dani: what

Mia: * knocks on the door *
Brian: * opens the door *
Mia: * walks in * is this your way of keeping me away from him
Brian: * closes the door * you're the only one I could call, Mia
Mia: he's my brother, of course
Dani: I couldn't find the bullet that shot me and Dom...oh hi, aren't you that chick I ran into
Mia: yeah, nice seeing you again kid, I'm Mia
Dani: nice to see you again too, I'm Dani...I'm Brian's daughter
Mia: * brings out a first aid kit * okay then, I'm going to clean it and stitch both of you up
Dom: * chuckles * bet you're gonna enjoy this
Mia: * smile's * a little bit

A few minutes later

Mia: * walks in with take out
Dani: * brings the food over to the table * huh take out I see
Mia: * goes to the small counter and gets some paper plates * yeah, I figured you guys would be hungry especially you since you need to eat
Dani: well I guess you were correct
Brian & Dom: * makes their way to the table and takes a seat as Mia and Dani takes the food out of the bag *
Brian: * sits across from Dom *
Mia & Dani: * takes a seat in between *
Dom: yeah, this what I'm talking about
Dani: * chuckles and hands the box to Brian * this is spicy, I can smell it...come on dad, get into it
Brian: * takes the small box *
Mia: he's not ready for that kind of heat
Brian, Dani, Dom & Mia: * laughs *
Brian: * pours the food onto his plate * let me prove you all wrong
Dom: * takes a bite of his food *
Mia: Dom, what are you doing
Dom: * looks at her *
Mia: * brings her hands together * you reached first, you have to say Grace
Dani: * looks at Brian confused *
Brian: it's a rule that they made
Dani: oh
Brian, Dani & Mia: * brings their hands together and smiles a little *
Dom: * takes a sip of his beer and brings his hands up together *
Brian, Dani, Mia & Dom: * closes their eyes *
Dom: thank you, Lord, for blessing this table
Mia: and food, family, friendship
Brian: * looks at Dani *
Dani: * smile's a little *
