A forbidden bond: part 1 (life before)

The second visit

As arachne walked with her classmates they began talking about their tributes

"I'm feeling really good about mine" said festus

"Have you seen mine?, I couldn't get anything out of her because of her crying all the time " pup said

"Mine looks like she could die at any moment" Felix said disappointed

"Ginnee is really sweet" Diana replied

"I like mine" was vipsania's response

'What did that mean?' Arachne wondered

" ugh! Mine wouldn't even talk to me!" Livia complained

'Not surprising'. No one actually wants to talk to someone like you livia
Arachne felt pity for the district one boy for having to but up with livia carbitch

and as she listened to coriolanus brag about his songbird arachne wanted to rake his face off with her nails, what good would singing do in the arena?

absolutly nothing.

as they piled back on the bus arachne went to the back and sat in a two person seat with sejanus taking the spot next to her with a sad look on his face 

"how did you do with brandy?" sejanus asked as the bus began moving 

"it went good, i think she trusts me, i think that we're getting along" arachne answered then looked at sejanus with concern before asking "how'd things go with marcus?"

sejanus looked down dejectedly "he still won't talk to me" 

arachne looked down before putting her hand on his knee

" i'm sorry" she said not knowing what else to say 'what can she say?'

her thoughts then went back to brandy, to her compliments to the fact that she felt her heart skip a beat when brandy said nice things that no one had ever said to her before and she smiled a small genuine smile before she thought that brandy and her could've been friends.

back at the academy the students got off the bus and into class arachne went over to domitia to talk strategy with her, she wasn't the easiest person to talk to but it was necessary  and as they were vipsania and pup came by and informed then that their tributes were going to ally with theirs and that they should work together 

'okay that's not bad it's actually really good, it increased brandy's chances of survival but at the same time she had to be carefull'  arachne thought 

"mine won't stand a chance she's weak and unless she can flood the arena with her tears she's not even an asset" pup complained

"don't say that in front of treech and her name is lamina" vipsania said almost defensively that surprised arachne because vipsania wasn't usually this expressive 

but then again none of them could really express themselves it was a reality that arachne accepted years ago 

a few minutes later as arachne was thinking about taking food to brandy she didn't notice the dean

"miss crane"

arachne turned around and looked down and saw dean highbottom 

"yes sir?" 

" walk with me" he said then turned and walked off

vipsania looked at her with a hidden concern in her light brown eyes

"i'll be fine"  she said as she made to follow the dean to his classroom 

it was funny to her that while his name was highbottom he looked like a midget but she wasn't ever going to say that outloud and he sat in his chair
