Me: Happy New Year!!!
Group message sent.
Sigh. It's been a week since I got that "Christmas greeting" from him. No hi, no hello.
Wait.
I had actually met him at Starbucks on Christmas break, the day after Christmas. And here I was, praying it never happened if only I knew what's yet to come.
"Hey!" I walked towards him as he pushed the door open. I tried to put as much distance between us as he slowed down walking. "So...I know it's freezing cold but, uhm, what's with the cold treatment?", teasing him. He forced a smile to acknowledge my presence and went his way never saying a word.
That was four days ago.
Sigh.

Daddy-long-legs: Happy New Year, Siri
That was weird. He seemed not himself.
Me: Hey! something wrong? u mad? sick? hangover?
His next reply didn't help the welling up feelings in my chest.
Daddy-long-legs: Nah not sick or mad. hangover? didn't drink last night
As stupid as I can be, I sent a lame reply and ignored all reasoning left of me.
Me: Ok if you say so :)
Me: hey, as promised, I'd bake a cake for Danny . If you want one, I'd bake for you, too.
I shouldn't have asked him that. Ugh!
I remembered baking Danny a cake as post Christmas present because Danny is being Danny with his soft spot for sweets. The three of us were schoolmates, townmates, lunchmates.

Daddy-long-legs: No! I meant, no thanks. Danny will love that.
Daddy-long-legs: Btw I'm dating Marie.
I'm dating Marie. I'm dating... Marie. Dating...Marieeee... I thought I'd read it all wrong. The voices in my head went bickering until they became deafening and finally, shattered my last shred of sanity.
Who's dating who?

Gossssshhhhh!
Way to go, Daddy-long-legs. Not cool.
Do you think Siri just got carried away by her feelings for him? Or you think Daddy-long-legs was actually being a mere epitome of "jerkness"? Love to hear it from you, guys.
If you're getting hooked in this roller coaster ride of events, don't forget to vote. One vote counts. Thanks.
