Riley holds my hand tightly, squealing.
"Ah, I'm so excited! You've been waiting so long for this!"I have. And it's finally time. It took us a month to settle in, but now it's time for me to meet my forever cat.
My mom opens the door to my bedroom, and in her hands is what can only be described as a ball of black and orange fluff.
But then small ears appear. A little pink nose, and those stunning, golden eyes.
"She's adorable!" Riley shrieks, but I don't respond. All my attention is on Noche.
My mom holds her out to me, and I take her in my grasp, surprised by her light weight.
She stirs in my arms, looking me in the eye. I give her head a hesitant pet, and then I feel it.
A small purr.
"Noche..." I whisper, feeling myself tear up.
Noche moves in my arms, readjusting herself until her soft belly is in the air and she's stretched out in my arms.
She then looks up at me with this oddly familiar look, and gives me a half purr, half meow, whiskers twitching.
"Yeah, I think I'm falling in love with this cat." I laugh to myself, feeling the happiest I've ever been in my whole entire life.
