Desire for God

CHAPTER 19

The Hales are at the exit of the airport waiting for their ride to come for them.

"Who is coming for us?" Danny asks.

"Your grandfather" Mrs Hale replies.

Then a car drives up and stops in front of them. Then their grandfather come out of the car. He hugs Mrs Hale then his son-in-law then he goes over to his grandchildren.

"I haven't seen you guys in a long time, how long has it been since you moved?"

"Almost a year" Felicity replies.

"Come on and give your grandfather a hug" he says then envelops both of them in a very long hug.

Then everyone puts their luggage in the trunk of the car and go into the car. Mr Hale decides to drive the car. In about 40 minutes, they arrive at grandfather's house. They will be staying with him because they sold their old house. So everyone takes out their luggage and go inside.

"The parents can stay in the guest room and Felicity you can stay in your mother's old bedroom and Danny you stay in your uncle Sam's room"

Everyone takes their luggage up to their rooms. Felicity enters her mother's old bedroom and sees some pictures on the desk. She takes one up and looks at it. It's a picture with her grandmother, grandfather, her mother and uncle Sam. She sits down on the bed and smiles at the picture. She puts it down on the bedside table. She goes back downstairs to the living room to where everyone else is sitting. Then the doorbell rings.

"I'll get the door" grandpa says as he gets up. He goes to the door and opens it.

"Good afternoon Richard, I brought some casserole for you, I'm sorry about Iris, I just heard this morning" the elderly woman says as she hands him the dish.

"Thank you Darlene, would you like to come in and meet my family?"

"It would be a pleasure"

He steps aside to allow her to come in and he leads her to the living room.

"Family this is Darlene, one of Iris' friends from bible study"

Then he introduces each of them to Darlene.

"It was nice meeting you all, goodbye"

Grandpa follows her to the door then comes back to sit down in the couch. Then everyone starts talking. Felicity looks at the time on her phone.

"Do you have plans?" Mrs Hale asks, "I see you looking at the time"

"Could I go to church tonight?"

"Tonight's youth group meeting right? Yeah you can go and carry Danny"

"And you can take my car" grandpa says.

"Thank you" then she looks at Danny, "Are you going to come?"

"Of course" Danny replies.

Later in the evening, Felicity and Danny go to their old church to see their old youth group. When they walk in, Felicity sees Shane on the stage preparing for praise and worship. His back is turned to the door so felicity walks up behind him.

"Is there any space for me to sing?" she says.

Shane turns around, his eyebrows go up.

Shane turns around, surprise written all over his face.

"Fel? Is that you?" Shane asks.

"In the flesh"

Shane hugs her tightly.
