CHAPTER 8

The next day, Felicity and Danny go to school with Rushelle because their mother is feeling sick and their father is gone to work already.

"How's your mother feeling?"

"She has a terrible headache and feels tired, she said she's gonna stay home and rest"

"I hope she feels better soon"

"Yeah thanks"

A few minutes pass, they arrive at Danny's school. He comes out of the car then they continue on their way.

In no time they arrive at school. While they are walking in the parking lot, Felicity is greeted by Kristen.

"Hey Kristen"

"I want to apologize for the way I behaved yesterday, it's just that normally whoever tried to talk to me like...well let's just say I didn't like how I was treated"

"It's cool, by the way this is my friend Rushelle"

"I know she's in my geography class"

"Yeah" Rushelle says avoiding eye contact with Kristen.

"Okay, I'll see you at lunch time" Felicity says.

"Yeah"

Kristen walks away.

"I wonder where Gareth is" Rushelle says, obviously trying to avoid Felicity from asking...

"Are you gonna tell me what happened between you and Kristen?"

"She and I used to be friends in elementary school and we just grew apart, nothing more"

"Okay but I'm not convinced that's the full story"

"I started avoiding her in highschool when I found out she was cutting herself, I tried to help her and she stopped for a while then started again, I gave up on her"

"You should try to talk to her"

"And what would I say?""

Then Gareth walks over to them.

"Aren't you girls going to class?" Gareth asks.

"Yeah, we were just having a chat" Felicity says.

"About?"

"Nothing that you need to worry about" Rushelle says.

"Okay"

After they chat a little,they go to their classes.

Felicity, Gareth and Rushelle are sitting at the table, eating their lunch while Kristen walks over to their table.

"Hey guys" she says as she sits down.

"Hey Kristen" Felicity says.

"Hi I'm Gareth" Gareth says with a very bright smile on his face.

"Hey Gareth" Kristen replies with an equally bright smile.

"Have you eaten as yet?" Felicity asks.

"Yes I have"

In a few minutes, they finish eating.

"Are you gonna go to church tonight Fel?" Gareth asks.

"Yeah, Danny too and I'll be singing tonight too"

"Singing lead?"

"No"

"You can sing?" Kristen asks, with a slight surprised look on her face.
