The next day, Felicity, Kristen and Rushelle are walking down the hallway.
"Oh Kristen, I heard you're christian now" a boy says as he walks by, "So you've got the sickness too, I hope it's not contagious" he says wryly.
"Don't pay him any attention" Felicity says.
"Is this gonna happen regularly?"
"Probably but you'll learn not to pay any attention to what they say, they're opinions about you don't matter only God's"
"Okay"
"Just read Matthew 5:11-12 and things might start getting tough, the devil will always try to discourage you, just trust God to give you strength"
"Thanks for the advice"
"Hey guys, how about Friday, we go hang out at Bob's Burger Joint" Rushelle asks changing the subject.
"Sounds like a good idea, just us girls or is Luke gonna be there?" Kristen says.
"Just us girls" Rushelle says, "I used to go out all the time with Jade and the girls"
"It sounds like a good idea" Felicity says. Then Felicity's mother drives up and Felicity says goodbye to the girls and get in the car.
"Hey mom, could I go out with Rushelle and Kristen Friday night?"
"I won't be able to carry you though, I have Bible study"
"That's fine, I can go with Rushelle"
"Okay, as long as your father says yes"
The car was silent until Mrs Hale says, "I'm sorry we weren't able to get you the car for your birthday, you know with your father in the hospital..."
"It's okay mom, I understand...completely, things never go as planned, I know that by now, it's fine"
The rest of the ride home was quiet.

The rest of the week flew pass quickly. It's Friday and Kristen, Rushelle and Felicity are on their way to Bob's Burger Joint. Rushelle is driving.
"I have a surprise for you girls"
"What kind of surprise?" Felicity asks curiously.
"I hope it's not Luke" Kristen comments.
"Yes and more"
"I thought this was gonna be girls only, If I knew he was coming, I wouldn't come" Kristen says.
"So you don't like him?"
"I don't hate him, I just don't like him with you"
"Oh I see....so you're jealous!" Rushelle shouts and turns to Kristen.
"Please, let's not do this! And Rushelle keep your eyes on the road, I'd like to reach there safely"
Rushelle just groans angrily and focuses on the road.
"I just think, you deserve better that's all" Kristen says.
"Who I date is my business!"
"Okay, fine, just scrap it"
There was a tense and uneasy silence.
"So what's the surprise?" Felicity asks breaking the silence.
"I invited, Courtney, "
"And how's that supposed to be a good surprise?" Kristen asks.
"It's for Fel, really not for both of you" She replies sharply.
