Elise's POV

I walked down to my floor about two hours after I had checked in to see the nurses crowding the admitting table. I set my clipboard down on the table and listened, "So I think that they might be dating."

"Who?" I ask

"Elise! You are suppose to call Michael for a ride home and if you don't he says he'll come get you himself." I blush knowing now that they are talking about me.

"Oh, okay thanks."

"Yeah, where were you? He said he hadn't seen you all night."

"Oh, I was with Colin and then his uncle came and took me to a coffee shop. I didn't know he wanted to see me."

"Oooo! Love triangle?" they all asked oooing at me.

"NO! He's engaged!" They smirk.

"So it's just an affair?"

"NO no no! I would never do that! He just wanted to talk about when Colin could be released and worked best if Colin wasn't with us. I swear on the Bible I would not do that!"

"Girl, you better be telling us the truth. We are your friends, if you lie about something like this is its automatically a strike in all of our friendships," Melony waves her hands around all the nurses. I nod and ask for my next clipboard. I don't usually have a lot of new patients but today I do. I guess after Calen and I left for coffee a bunch of admittances were made.

Calen and I had actually been friends since high school, I had dated him until college and then we just kind of split. When Colin had been put into the hospital his parents had sadly given up their rights to him because they couldn't afford his doctor bills. Calen, being brother to Colin's mother, stepped in and took over as legal guardian. He didn't make his sister and her husband not see Colin, that was their choice. Colin knew what was going on to say the most part.

When I had found out Colin was a werewolf, as well as Michael I just had a feeling Calen was. We had been together for a little over a year. He had been there for me when Jack had done what he had done, and been there when my mom tried to kick me out of the house, claiming what had happened had been all my fault. I would never step in the way of his happiness with Molly, never. I walked into a room with a little girl huddled up against her pillow, "Hi, I'm Elise."

Michael's POV

"So, ya know as Alpha you have to come to the pack house."

"Calen, I know. I've been Alpha for awhile now."

"Well we just haven't seen a lot of you around lately. We understand that you want to spend time with your Mate and you have a job but you of all people would know the pack is suppose to come first."

"I know, but I want Elise to come first. I know that if I want to be with her I have to continue to work at the hospital because that's where she's happy."

"I know." He says with a small smile.

"Hey, you seem to know Elise. Do you know anything about her past? She won't talk to me about it."

"I... I do but I don't think she wants me to tell you. I think you just need to wait till she is ready to talk about it."

"I can't wait though. She was in the forest yesterday and crying over something. She wouldn't tell me what."

"She isn't ready to tell you yet. It took me forever to get it out of her."

"How long have you known her!" I throw my arms up in the air.

"Calm down, we went to high school together." Calen hops in my truck and starts it. It roars to life sounding perfect. (Photo of truck to the right)

"It looks great." I smile. "I think I'll pick her up in it and take her on the date tonight." Calen's eyes widen.

"Um... Where is this date?"

"On the beach, why?" he breathes out a sigh of relief.

"Just wondering." I glare at him knowing he's lying to me.

"So what exactly have I missed at the pack house?"

"Alec. He's gone off the rocker again. We had to chain him up. He doesn't even know why it's happening!"

"Sounds like him. I can go now and see if there is anything I can get out of him but I doubt there is a real reason. He needs to find his mate, and soon."

"I'd be worried for that girl. He's probably gonna end being abusive."

"That's why he will still live in the pack house. He knows it's not a decision, anymore."

"That's what we get for taking a rouge in." Calen sighs and walks to his jeep. I hop into the truck and drive out of the garage following Calen to the pack house. It's actually not that far from my house if I take the back roads. I never have taken them with my sports car, but trucks are meant to get dirty. I speed up on the graval, watching as dust flies up behind me. I love this car.

AN: so this is not at all how long I wanted this to be! I'm gonna update later tonight I think, my mom is on a crazed "Let's clean the house top to bottom, twice! and then I'll tell you it's still not done but I'll give you a thirty minute break" mood. I was really shocked y'all had thought Calen was a bad guy! I love him lol!!! I didn't even think about that till y'all said something, it didn't seem to work in my head lol. soooo I'm sorry that this is, well in my opinion, a terrible chapter. To the right, like I said before, is the red truck... I have a thing for red trucks, well trucks in general but really red trucks or trucks that have a picture on the back, like my dad's. VOTE, COMMENT, FAN.... Be honest and tell me what you thought of this chapter, I won't take any offense to it, trust me. xoxo ~Claire Davis
