Naïri watched her little brother come out of his room, a sombre expression on his face, and eyes rimmed red.
She poured tea. "Günaydın, Someone had a bad night ?" She asked, serving him a plate of eggs and bread with butter. She loved pampering Serkan, the only remaining family she had left.
Serkan looked at his plate. "I am not too hungry." He let out simply.
"Are you alright little bear ?" She run a hand through his hair and Serkan shook her hand off.
He was so glad for her but Naïri's sometimes suffocating motherly love wasn't something he needed.
Naïri turned to get a glass of warm milk for herself. "You're awfully angry." She noted. "Eda said she would drop by today." She added, conversely.
Serkan's heart burned, he didn't want to see her face.
"I can't believe I trusted her so blindly, she never loved me..." He shook his head, eyes full of tears again.
Naïri froze and frowned at him. "Oohh lovers fight. First ?" She teased.
"It's not funny Kuyr." Serkan let out defensively, pained. "I never ever imagined this, she doesn't even love me, do you think she ever did ?" He asked, anguished.
"Who ?" Naïri asked confused now.
"Eda!" Serkan snapped, her name burning his tongue, feeling like an insult.
"Ofcourse she loves you Serkan, it's obvious to a blind person. She doesn't even censor herself, the girl's foolishly in love with you, you'd tell her jump, she will ask how high ?" Naïri said obviously and took a sip of her milk.
"Whatever happened, settle it, don't be silly." She shrugged.
"It can't be settled, I want her out of my life, I never want to see her face again." Serkan let out with anguish, pushing his plate away.
Naïri watched him in shock, and right on cue, the doorbell rang. She rose, and as she did, Serkan did too, but to go to his room, he banged the door so hard it rattled in his frame.
Naïri startled and frowned. "What the hell ?" She said to herself as she went to open the door, removing the chair
"Günaydın," Eda smiled on the other side, they shared a knowing look.
Last night's operation had been quite the thing, and the mission wasn't over yet. Each and every got riskier and riskier.
"You're here to see Serkan?" Naïri asked. "He's not upto meeting you right now."
Eda's smile fell. "Neden ?" She asked.
"I don't know, he said he wasn't hungry either. Did you two have a fight ?" Naïri asked.
Eda inhaled. "No, we never fight. What's wrong with him, is he sick ?" Eda worried, her eyed darting inside the appartement.
"I don't think he physically is..." Naïri frowned.
Eda inhaled. "Did he have nightmares again ?" She asked with worry.
"Nightmares ?" Naïri frowned.
Eda bit her lips. "When Serkan came to Constantinople the first time, and we met again, he used to have a lot of nightmares, all the time. The trauma...of everything that happened..." Eda's eyes filled.
"Ohh.." Naïri inhaled, she didn't knew her little brother went through so much, she realised how Eda knew him much more than her.
"Can I maybe try ? See how he is." Eda asked and Naïri moved out of her way. "Sure." She agreed, ignoring Serkan's adamant will of not seeing her.
