Callahan's POV

I started seeing Clara more after that night. I told her I didn't want a big relationship right away and reminded her I still had to break up with Emily.

It wouldn't be easy.

I invited her to a coffee shop and told her we needed to talk a few weeks later. She knew something was up for a while and confronted me when she sat down,

"You're seeing her again. Aren't you? That's why you've been so distant!" She laughed in my face, obviously pissed off.

"It's complicated, Em." I tried to calm her down.

"Don't fucking call me that. I knew I wasn't insane when you moaned her name the other night. You're an asshole. I hope she breaks your heart like you did to mine!" She grabbed her bag a stormed out of the door.

If I really wanted her back I would've chased her.

But I didn't.

I was deeply in love with Clara Stewart.

Clara's POV

I made Callahan text Emily and apologized about everything he did to her. I sort of felt bad for her.

He did confess that they had sex two nights ago but it didn't bother me. He chose me and was done with her.

"I want you to go to therapy if you want to be in a relationship with me, Cal. Your behavior is unhealthy." I told him as he laid next to me in his bed.

"I'm not doing that. I'm fine." He rolled over and faced me.

"I mean it. I'll get up and leave right now if you don't promise me." I raised my voice a little with him.

"Geez. Okay I'll try it. For you." He smiled and pulled me into his grasp.

I was glad he was back in my life. I could focus on school and not have distractions. He let me stay in his apartment a few minutes from campus and we became healthy together.

Callahan gave a thorough apology to my brother and dad.

At first my brother looked like he was going to kill Callahan but after time he forgave him.

Therapy worked for Cal and he started attending it more frequently. He told me they found out his family/upbringing were the root causes for his behaviors.

I blinked my eyes and I already graduated college.

We bought a small house together a few blocks from my dad's house.

For once in my life I was content and happy.

Koda and I still talk every now and then. We agreed to stay friends and he actually started talking to a friend of Jolie.

One afternoon a few years into our relationship, Callahan told me to meet him at the beach. I sort of suspected something was up.

He made a candle walkway up to where he was holding a bouquet of flowers and a box.

I started crying.

"Clara Marie Stewart, I want to spend forever with you. Will you join me?" He got on one knee and opened the box.

"Of course, Callahan. I love you."
