I was abruptly roused from slumber by the sound of shouting echoing through the house. Startled, I rose from bed, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Mommy," Melina's  voice quivered, her small figure sitting up in bed.

"It's okay, sweetie. Go back to sleep," I reassured her, watching as she obediently closed her eyes and drifted back into dreams.

With a sense of foreboding, I retrieved a gun from the dresser and made my way downstairs, the voices growing louder and more desperate with each step.

"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?" The words reverberated through the air, filled with anger and urgency.

"I KNOW YOU HAVE HER HERE!"

that voice it sound's like

As I entered the living room, my eyes widened in disbelief at the scene before me.

There, standing in the midst of chaos, was Don.

A mix of shock and confusion washed over me as everyone's attention turned towards my sudden appearance.

"Don," I uttered his name in disbelief, my voice barely above a whisper, as he made his way towards me, his arms outstretched.

"Vera," he said, his voice tinged with emotion as he enveloped me in a tight embrace, the world around us momentarily fading away.

But our moment of reunion was shattered by Silas's enraged voice, his words cutting through the tension like a knife.

"Get your damn hands off her!" Silas's voice boomed, his eyes fixed on Don with a deadly intensity, a gun pointed unwaveringly in his direction.

"Silas, put the gun down," Nathaniel's calm voice cut through the charged atmosphere, a plea for reason in the midst of escalating conflict.

But Silas remained unmoved, his gaze locked on Don, the air thick with tension and the unspoken threat of imminent violence.

The room was now a battleground, the players poised for a dangerous dance of prey and predator, each move laden with the weight of past grievances and unresolved emotions.

I found myself caught in a whirlwind of emotions, my heart racing as I stood between Don and Silas, the tension in the room palpable.

"get out of the way, Vera" Silas reverberated in the air, his eyes burning with a dangerous intensity that sent shivers down my spine.

"You're not going to shoot him, Silas!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with a mix of defiance and fear, desperately hoping to defuse the volatile situation.

To my relief, Silas hesitated and reluctantly lowered the gun, his gaze still fixed on Don with a simmering anger that threatened to boil over at any moment.

But just as I thought a moment of reprieve had come, Silas's next words shattered the fragile peace we had momentarily achieved.

"You wanna tell her, or should I?" Silas's voice was cold, calculated, as he turned his piercing gaze towards Don with a smirk in his face, a silent challenge hanging in the air.
