Lisa'a doorbell chimed and she threw the rest of her 'treasures' into her closet before leaping up to go answer the door. "Hello..." she called skeptically, not sure whether to expect James, the mail man, or a killer. Quite frankly, as far as she was concerned the murderer could be either of them, but she decided not to linger on that thought as she would be seeing both of them almost daily. She reached the door just in time for her to see the back of a 5'9 man wearing a velvety, emerald suit that shimmered giving off a radiant aura of sumptuousness and pride. She reached for the lock on the door before opening it and widening her mouth.
She hesitated for a moment before calling,
"James?"
The man turned around. He had chestnut hair and semi rimmed tortoise glasses.
"Yes," he questioned with an accent she couldn't quite put her finger on, "This is the right place then?"
Lisa froze for a moment then sputtered, "Y-y yes."
Her heart did a flip. What was happening to her? She never choked up, let alone at some bankrupt, unhinged guy. She turned around as Cassius came to greet James. There were no words in their brief exchange, only a handshake and a curt nod. Perhaps they'd already met. She thought, letting her thoughts wander.
Lisa caught James examining her, possibly for threat or if HE was the murderer for prey, then Cassius backed away. She turned to glance at her doorway before inviting him to the tea room for a drink and the wafers she had baked before he had arrived. James watched cautiously as Cassius tasted the food before letting them eat, in case one was sabotaged.
"I can't believe you think so lowly of me," Lisa remarked to Cassius. He just looked at her, eyebrow raised, reminding her of earlier today, when she had threatened to kill the striking man that sat in front in front of her. Then Cassius led James to his room for the evening. After Cassius returned to the tea room, he suggested they both get some rest and brought her to her room.
