Rose?
I opened my eyes and I found myself surrounded in darkness. I hear the voice that kept on calling me. I try to squint my eyes to try to see but it in vain. The darkness that engulfed me is full and did not seem to let any light pass through. I'm scared to think that I found myself lost in oblivion and found myself missing everyone that I knew. As I was deep in thought, I heard the voice again.
Rose. . .
I turned my head again and tried to find the source but saw nothing but the darkness. I started to feel afraid about being alone in the darkness but the voice seemed to have sensed my thoughts for it said. . .
Don't be scared, Rose. It'll be over soon. . .
I opened my mouth to speak but I found myself unable to do so. I cleared my throat and tried once more but to no avail. I then had a thought of communicating to it with my mind. I have to try. If I can't speak with my mouth then why not speak with my head? I gave out a sigh and started to ask the voice through my mind.
How do you know my name? No answer. I tried again.
Where am I? Why am I here?
You're in the middle of oblivion.
But why? I asked once more.
Time progresses and so as your life. This is just the beginning of what you are about to discover for yourself, child. Your life is not what you think it is. I see in your mind that you seek answers. You shall find the answers when you are complete. . .
I don't know what the voice is trying to tell me. Why can't she just. . .
I cannot tell you the answers. You must find out yourself. It doesn't make sense now but it will in its own time and always remember to follow the voice inside you. You must wake up now...
I heard the voice fading away but I was still confused. I have no idea as to what it was trying to say. Wait!. . .
Wait. . .
I saw that the darkness was fading and a blinding white light surrounded me and I felt myself unable to move. It became hard to breath and I gasped for air when I heard a familiar voice.
Rose! Wake up!
I opened my eyes to find myself tangled in my blanket wet with sweat and I saw Sebastian and Beatrice beside my bed with a worried expression in their faces. I couldn't feel more safe now that I've seen their familiar faces and I saw Sebastian sit on the bed. I didn't realize that I was crying until he wiped the tears from my eyes with his thumb.
"Shh. . . It's alright, Rose. It was just a nightmare." He smiled and sat me on his lap and hugged me as he stroked my hair gently, assuring me that I'm safe. I felt the bed dip and Bea was sitting next to me, her hand stroking my back. It went on like that until I felt exhausted from crying and I fell asleep once more.
I woke up with a massive headache and puffy eyes from all the crying last night. Bea was already inside the room shuffling and placed a tray with tea and biscuits. "Here, drink." she handed me the tea and I proceeded to take a sip. Bea always took care of me like a sister and I to her. She sat down on the bed and looked at me with those emerald eyes like Seb's.
"Look, I know you had a rough time yesterday. I just want you to know that don't let them get to you. They're just seeking attention." I put the cup down and said, "I know... I'm not worried about that or anything. God knows what they're up to all the time." I rolled my eyes and managed to chuckle before I took another sip of the tea.
"Glad to know that our princess is as brave as ever," she whispered, "even if she only shows the elegant side to the world." she winked and we both laughed. Then, I remembered what I did to that girl, Monique.
"Actually, I'm not sure I was at my best on the first day..." I gave out a nervous laugh. "What do you mean?" Bea asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Don't give me that look..."
"What look?" she asked, now smiling.
"That... look..." I waved my hand to her eyes for emphasis.
"My look that tells you to tell me more about how you managed to shame that woman?" she said with a huge grin.
"You know about that?"
"Oh, yes."
For the love of pancakes! How on earth did she know? But more importantly, I have to ask if Sebastian knew about it or else I'm in BIG trouble. I can't go into hours of discussion about my manners.
"D-Does Seb know?" I crossed my fingers and wishing that he hadn't heard it yet.
"Yes. He knows."
OHMYGOD! Unbelievable! I can't face him... I'm so embarrassed. As I was in the middle of my thoughts, I heard Bea laugh.
"Oh god, you should see your face, Rose. It was HILARIOUS! HAHAHAHAHA!
I grabbed the nearest pillow behind me and hit her hard on the head while laughing. "You did not!" She fell from the bed unto the floor and kept on laughing while holding her stomach and then she slowly stood up still laughing.
"You know what, don't even worry about my brother, he's not scolding you anytime soon. Apparently, he laughed the whole time when he heard the news. He said something about, "That's our princess!" and we both just laughed."
"You're kidding."
"Absolutely not! HAHA Anyway you better get dressed my lady or else you'll be late."
"Late for what?" I asked confused. It was Saturday so there's no classes. Bea cleared her throat and said.
"You are going to meet your betrothed, princess." Bea mocked a bow and went to get the tray and out of the room with a huge smile. Obviously, she wasn't over the whole throwing a food on my enemy.
"I can't believed I'm going to meet my fiance. God, I hope he's not old... Please not old..."
I stood up and went to prepare myself.
