We finally make it to the hospital, "Hello? We need a doctor!" The solder says, "Are you a doctor? Are you a doctor?" He is asking random people through the hospital halls.
"You can not barge in here!" The guy replies
"Are you a doctor yes or no? Answer the fucking question!" I yell at the guy
He does not reply and just looks at us, "Are you fucking slow or something?" I say as I push past him.
"Help! We need a doctor!" I say and I hear Caspar following me. Fuck
I find one of those things that announce anything you say to the whole hospital and speak through it, "Neurology. Code blue. Station one. Neurology, code blue, station one" I repeat myself two times over the announcer.
"What you doing" Caspar asks
"Emergency, innit?"
After a couple seconds someone comes thought, "Who called blue?"
"You a neurologist?"
"Is this a prank? We've got people fighting for life here" she replies to me
"No, no, look. I need help. Okay? I need-" Caspar starts to say but he gets cut off
"You two need to find your parents or guardian. I'll have someone get you out of here" She starts to grab the phone and puts in a number, but then the solder comes in and stops her, "I'm their guardian. You a neurologist?"
"Yeah" after a couple second of her thinking she says, "Come with me"
She takes us to her doctor room, and I start to feel a little nervous. Is Caspar having a seizure really a good thing to do right now? Will he die?
I watch as she motions Caspar to sit down on the cot, and she shines a light in his eyes.
"Dilation is normal" she says after she clicks the flashlight, "Look, I cant just induce a seizure in a child without a parents consent"
Jesus Christ this doctor is pissing me off, "Look, he drew this. All right? Before it even happened." I show her the notebook, "So I am gonna need you to just do what we ask you to do, without being a little bitch about it because this is serious"
I heard her scoff, "Look here, girl. You cant talk to me like-"
"Look, I can help them. All fo them, all right? I just need a seizure" Caspar cuts her off.
"Okay but there are enough people with real injuries here. You should be taking medication to avoid epilepsy"
I roll my eyes, "Dont you get it? Serious shit is happening right now and-"
Once again I get cut off by Caspar, "Carbamazepine. Two hundred milligrams a day, okay? I don't need meds, I need to seize"
"I cant induce a seizure in a child without a medical reason. I wont"
"We got a gun, and If you don't help us-" I start to say, but I get cut off again. I swear to god if someone else cuts me off while talking I am going to be even more pissed than I already am.
"Ma'am" The solder starts to say.
"You gonna shoot me?" The Neurologist starts to say.
"I would not mind if you did" I murmur, but I could tell everyone could hear me.
"Ive seen doctors induce all kinds of shit on kids before. Tests, processing. Hell, I've seen em do it when kids are screaming and crying for them not to. When those tests and procedures don't—look at me" He starts to say as the doctor focuses her eyes on the ground, "So please, spare us all the medical reason bullshit. He's asking for help. We're asking. Cause I cant be here, all the way across the world again for nothing. Cause there has to be a reason. he's the reason, the girls the reason, the book is the reason. So do whatever he needs"
