I had to go back to campus for the football game, I was excited because I would possibly see Paige at the game. I also needed to take my bike to my dorm to I could get to class faster.
"Are you ready", I hear Julia knocking on my door. "Give me a sec", I decide to put on a little bit of makeup.
It was only around 5:15 am but we had to be back by 6am for practice.
We got back to campus at 5:45 and went to our sectional rooms.
"Alright guys, let's practice the fight song", Alice says. I'm so proud of my bestie, her hard work has finally paid off, she's section leader!

It's now lunch time. Me, Julia, Alice and our friend Charlotte went to go get some food at a nearby smoothie place. We all got açaí bowls after we went to a park to eat them.

When we get back to campus everyone is in the band room together for practice. Welp, I hope I don't mess up.
Practice went smooth but now it was time for the actual game, which meant marching in and actually playing and possibly seeing Paige. I'm so nervous, I'm also excited. I get to dance with my bestie in the stands for the first time in years and I get to play my flute and sing in the same event.
While we're marching in I see phoebe at the concessions. When we got to the stands and sat down me, Alice and Charlotte all sat next to each other. "Do you think she's here", I turn to Charlotte. I can't bother Alice about it anymore, she might actually jump me. "I'm sure she is Tori, there doesn't seem to be a reason she wouldn't be", she says softly.
Charlotte was in our friend group in high school, she had always been kind to us and we had been to her, she's been one of our close friends ever since.
"Hey guys, I think I see them", Alice says looking in the opposite direction of us. We both turn our heads in that direction.
I see Inês hit Paige and point towards us, they both start waving. We smile and wave back. God, she's so cute. I wish we were talking right now, or hugging. That hug we had was so warm.
"Take your jackets off", I hear the drum major say and we all comply. "How do I look", I say turning to each of my friends. "You look fine", Charlotte says. I had to wash and slick my hair back because the hat would make me sweat it out.
"Hey baby", the drum major says, and we start playing the song. I kinda like this song, we didn't have this in my high school band.
"Hey, hey baby I wanna know If you'll be my girl" We all sing it in unison while the tubas play.
The other band starts playing the same song. Oh so this we're battling. I giggle to myself thinking about it.
"Neck", the drum major tells us to play, and we do. I love this song. While we sing the chant I look over and see the basketball girls jaming out to the song.
Next the drum line plays a cadence and we're all dancing, me, Alice and Charlotte are doing a dance from high school. After we all ask to go to the bathroom.
"Guys, Chris is having this party Friday, we should go", I tell them. "Where and what time", Charlotte asks. "Uh, I'm not sure what time but I know it's at his house", I put some lip balm on since they're about to go out for half time.
When we go back I decided to stay in the stands since I wasn't going on the field. I think I'm gonna go sit with Paige... wait I'm kinda scared. Wait, I think she's coming here. OH MY GOD!
I try to act like I'm not paying attention but I can't help but stare as she walks over. "Hey", she sits down next to me but leaves enough room for me to sit my water between us.
"Hey", I say back. "You like the music we've been playing", I ask turning to her. "Yeah, y'all are really good", she says turning to me. This is so dry. "Are you going to that party that football player is throwing", she asks smiling at me. That smile would make me weak in my knees. "Um yeah, I'm kinda friends with him, and he's like my sisters soulmate."
"That makes sense, she invited me", she chuckles. "Do you have a costume yet", I ask taking a sip of my water. "I don't think I'll dress up." "Why not, that's the art of having a costume party!"
"Okay then what are you dressing up as", she says tilting her head. "Finn the human", I say smirking. She laughs, "Like from adventure time." "What's wrong with that", I say laughing back. "Nothing, I think it'll look nice."
"Oh my god, Paige gimme your number", I say before we change to subject again. She hands me her phone and takes mine to give me her number. "Thank youu", I sing smiling.
"So why aren't you up there", she asks. "I only just got here in the middle of the week, I would have to learn it next week", I say shrugging. she nods, "nice."
"So, how do you think Inês and Alice are doing", I say just turning and watching the band. "Honestly", she thinks about it. "I think Inês likes her, but she's never been one to make the first move."
"Well what about you", I say turning to face her.
"What do you mean?"
"Do you like to make the first move", I ask, my voice slightly softer. A red tint comes across her cheeks, it's cute. "Um, sometimes. It depends", she turns to the field.
"Oh my god", I look over her shoulder and see the band coming back from halftime. "You're gonna have to go back, they're coming", I say pointing to them. She sighs. "See you around", she says getting up.
